i'm sorry, 3 commentary tracks pala...here's part of the review from dvd.ign.com:

Disc one is pretty much identical to the barebones release. Even the menus are similar, only with a different animated background this time around. There is one very notable exception, though. The first disc includes three commentary tracks, all of which are insightful into different parts of the movie.

In one track you get Director Ridley Scott and Producer Jerry Bruckheimer mainly discussing the production, shots and logistics of the movie. Next up are book author Mark Bowden and screenwriter Ken Nola discussing the story and some of the historical context of the film. The third commentary, and in my opinion the most interesting, is with four Task Force Ranger Vets who were actually involved in the operation in Mogadishu. MSgt. Matt Eversmann, Col. Tom Matthews (ret.), Col. Danny McKnight (ret.) and Col. Lee Van Arsdale (ret.) take you through the operation as it really happened, and point out where the film got it right, and where they took some liberties with the actual events to make them a little more dramatic.

yup wala nga...hay naku...bebenta ko pa naman sana yun 3disc ko na R1...well looks like i need to keep it pa pala...but hindi pa nila ginawang 5disc e :) pero i think this being a DTS version and more importantly..a "limited edition"more than makes up for the loss of 3 commentaries  ;D (IMO)

:) yup, i guess for the extra dts track to fit in they had to drop the commentaries. pero sayang di yun ah...swerte mo, may 2 versions ka nito. ako nga naghahanap ng kahit 3 disc nalang eh... :)

Came across very enlightening comparisons between standard and Superbit, with screen shots. This is the link for the comparison between the two versions of The Fifth Element. There are several more on the same site.

Couldn't really read Amazon Japan but went and tried using Altavista Translator and all it said was the R2 Spidey Superbit will be released Oct. 22, 2003 and it's NTSC R2 Dolby.  :-\  No idea about R1 or R3 but I bet it's on the way.

Btw, Pathé Distribution will be releasing Fifth Element as a 2 disc SE in R2 UK (November). DTS and loads of extras.  Details here.

Superbit DVDs
« Reply #111 on: Oct 03, 2003 at 10:37 PM »
it is written on the cover of superbit dvds that they offer higher bit rates than non-superbit dvds. ( >8 for superbit vs <5 for non-superbit). but sometimes i get a bitrate of >8 for non-superbit dvds and <5 for superbits. hindi ba tayo niloloko lang ng manufacturer ng superbit?

I think what they mean is that the DVDs were encoded at double the bit rate. The bit-rate meter refers to the transmission rate from the DVD player.

BTW, there's an existing thread about Superbits, with some links to screen shots that compare Superbit to "normal" DVD.

Re:Columbia TriStar "SuperBit DVD"... Les Miserables
« Reply #114 on: Oct 07, 2003 at 07:21 AM »
A snippet from the press release:

Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment raises the curtain on a trio of acclaimed filmed stage performances debuting into the Superbit collection of enhanced DVDs including Cirque du Soleil: Dralion, Les Miserables and Riverdance: Live From New York. All titles will be available on October 7 priced to own at $26.95

Specs are the same for all three titles -  Closed Captioned Digitally Mastered Audio and Anamorphic Video Widescreen Presentation Audio: English (Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS).  Les Miserables is the 10th Anniversary live performance at London's Albert Hall.

Will LES MISERABLES superbit also be released locally? Or is it available na in astro stores?

I guess we won't be seeing SUPERBIT edition of Jurassic Park in R1 as seeing that Universal owns the rights to it.
