Aside from the different versions, each release includes"Blonde Poison" documentary, the "Cleaning Up Basic Instinct - A Montage" comparing the two versions (funny how they can show the steamy footage as a supplement on the R-version!), a new audio commentary with Feminist Critic Camille Paglia(!), two still galleries with production photos and storyboard comparisons, production notes, cast and crew filmographies and the trailer. Note that the unrated cut will also feature the same audio commentary with director Paul Verhoeven and director of photography Jan De Bont. This commentary will not appear on the R-rated version. I remember watching the Basic Instinct director's cut on VHS.  I wonder if this is the same as the SE version.  I think it might be.

Basic Instinct SE is up for preorder at Amazon but no details are available yet. It is listed twice since there are two versions but you can't tell (yet) which one is the unrated version. Now we all want the unrated version, right?   (let's wait...)

Under Setup, click on the ice-pick to the far left, and see a taping of one of the actresses performing her part.

There's a similar for one of the other actresses hidden in the Special Features menu, also when high-lighting the ice-pick.

Also under Setup if you go down in the bottom and highlight JVC, you will se a ad for JVC.

Unfortunately I got the R-Rated version where they made a skin colored circle blurred censorship on the scene betwwen Michael Dougla & Sharon Stone

I have the Total Recall SE na pinahiran ng friend ko. medyo disappointing by todays standard yung mga special effects, the god news is Anamorphic na yugn video niya at na enhanced nila yung Low freq Effects channel nito.

Yung basic instinct naman eh na korek na yung problema ng skin tone na siyang problema nung earlier version.

2 mins of additional sex scenes is long ha!  

I happen to own both TOtal Recall and Basic Instinct SEs. Basic Instinct was viewed several times already while Total Recall remained sealed for the past 5 months since it was released.

tanong lang po kong meron release dyan sa pinas nung basic instinct na unrated?? di kasi kami makaorder sa amazon nyan kasi hinaharang ng custom dito sa singapore.... mahigpit kasi ang board of censor dito pagdating sa mga films.... (kainis).. how about yun american pie na unrated din? at T2 na ultimate edition??

Hi thx_ultra! Welcome! Dito sa pinas, wala rin release in Region 3 ng Basic Instinct Unrated at T2. American Pie mayroon, hindi ko lang sigurado kung unrated.  Check mo rin dito: Region 3 vs. Region 1

tol hinahanap ko yun Region 1 ng mga Basic Instict unrated, T2 ultimate edition, Dracula superbit edition, Predator DTS, saving private ryan dts at american pie unrated. me alam ka ba dyan sa pinas na store na nagbebenta nito?? , la akong makita dito sa singapore ban yan lahat dito.. di rin pwede sa amazon nahaharang naman...

Finally, last night .. I saw a brand new Basic Instinct OOP SE!... Did not hesitate buying it out and.. open it to see what were the extended uncut scenes!


This is not a wish for my collection.. I longed for this... see some related posts I made about it

Was that the special edition? or the director's cut icepick version?

The special edition if Im not mistaken do have a shiny glowy light blur on Sharon Stone's bottom during the bed scene with Michael Douglas
