Friend (original title: Chin Gu)

Limited Ultimate Edition
(Tin Case: 2 Disc Set)
[/b]

I don't know what this movie is about.  The packaging just caught my attention.  I like the rough-look and the way they 'die-cut' the Korean (or are those Chinese) characters into the tin.  Yung tin case very Asian...MUKHA TALAGANG YERO! ;D

I saw this DVD and the packaging is exactly the way you describe it Bart ---- LATA talaga! ;D AGan, it's a Korean DVD...basta Korean DVD kakaiba talaga, packaging is way better than R1 even.

Another lata packaging is the Cinema Paradiso Limited Asian Release....

Do not leave ot put this DVD in your kitchen, baka mapagkamalang MALING!

A weird looking packaging naman is Evil Dead: Boofk of Dead

It's texture is different, it looks like chocolate though...

I remember reading something about this. Pag nilagay more raw yung book sa ref for around 30 mins to an hour an then take it out and touch it, it feels like dead flesh daw... *URK!!*  :o (ang morbid talaga ng title na to...)

I got my T2:Ultimate Edition R1 in a cardboard box/sleeve and inside was the Amaray case with the 2 discs.  When the plastic was still intact, I thought I got the aluminum cover.  Shucks!

My worse DVD packaging in my collection is Fifth Element R2.  It came in a audio CD case---> not even an Amaray or snapper case.  :P

Best packaging?

1. Lord of the Rings Giftbox Platinum Edition - 5 discs total (including that documentary by Discovery about J.R.R. Tolkien and how he wrote the book), the statues of the Argonath by Wetaworks, a pack of trading cards, and a free ticket for Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers at any cinema within the U.S. (may silbi din)

2. 1st 100 units of the Akira Limited Edition - 2 discs, and an Akira decal, package encased in aluminum.

I'm just waiting for the release of X-Men 1.5. It's the un-cut version of the movie itself.

uh. 100 units lang ba yung tin case? i don't think they only produced such a small number... di sana ni-numberan nila para mas feel mo na limited edition talaga... and anyway, it's a pain to keep... sobrang prone to dents yung aluminum! plus the plastic holder that hangs on to the discs are prone to break everytime you try to open it the aluminum case ... tumatama sa side nung inner can!!! haaay... oh well.. at least it looks good.

worst... ET gets my vote... !

Apparently, dirt cheap... I got this one also for my wife and we always let my small son operate the dvd and broke the case already....  >:(  And he never had any problems with any of my dvd's before.

I may be wrong since I got the Akira through bulk order with the other guys at work (who sort'a...actually, we did  ;D ....panicked when they heard about only 100 units of those metal cased Akira DVDs).

Grrrrr on the packaging of X-Men 1.5 !!!!

As soon as i touched it meron na kaagad fingerprints yung cardboard case niya.  Sayang coz it's black pa naman so you can really see the prints on the cover.

I'm so maingat pa naman tapos .... smile nalang at baka magkaron pa ako wrinkles  ;D ;D ;D

kayang tangalin of course ... yun nga lang pati cardboard sira  ;D

HEhehee seriously, kaya naman tangalin but it's kinda hard kasi meron natural oils yung hands natin so when you wipe it kalat pa siya konti and since cardboard siya malaki pa possibility na masira yung packaging  :-[

I agree dapat ganun ka kaingat para di masira.Kaya nga once in a while ko lang pinapanood yung x-men and i see to it na pag pinanood ko yung pelikula pati special feautures pinapanood ko na para isang tanggalan na lang sa lalagyanan ng two disc

if you think grease has the worst packaging, check out the r3 release of little nicky, family man, wedding planner which are cheaply sold at P300.

wala na yatang mas malala pa dun.

you can always try making your own packaging for regular use (and just store the original flimsy/bad packaging)...

I highly recommend http://www.dvdcoverart.com for alternative/replacement covers. Most of the time they have alternative versions that are BETTER than the original.

from what i heard R2 are being package better than R1 or R3.  This is their selling point for the R2 although i think R2 lack the video quality as compared to the R1

Worst case I saw was the B2TF R3 which was just release recently.  And I heard this is not the corrected version. :(....how sad

I like the Battle Royale Speciald Edition Director's Cut DVD packaging.. it's like brownish hard paper and it's simple lang that's why it's great..! porma siya.. parang fight club yung dating :)
