I watched Torque last night (DD). This is one good LFE movie, I know the story sucks, but a good portion of the movie is filled with LFE. Its more on engine sounds, unlike the usual explosions for LFE.

I just watched Deep Impact SE last night , after over a year of the DVD in the shelf.

The video transfer wasnt impressive and so was the LFE during the doomsday sequences. They could have done a better job.

Flight Plan

Lots of LFE in the whole movie. Intro pa lang, puro LFE na.

But no one scene is particularly worthy of being demo material, but the whole movie.

Lots of background noise using the surrounds, people talking, etc.

kapapanood ko lang ulit, di ko alam kung nabanggit na dito

master and commander....yung scene na me canyon battle sila...

swordfish... yung explosion sa chapter one yung sumabog yung babae na may bomba sa katawan...then yung scene na pinagbabaril ni John Travolta using ultimax gun yung mga govt. agent, atsaka yung scene na binuhat nung crane helicopter yung bus nila....... di ganon kalalim ang LFE's nitong mga to pero nakakatuwa yung ingay lalo na yung sa helicopter, talagang parang umiikot sa likod mo yung tunog.....and to think na medyo luma na yung movie and walang DTS....Dolby 5.1 lang...

isip pa ako...hehehe

The bank robbery scene in HEAT.  I think it will test how fast your sub is.  With the right sub, this scene will make your heart pound with the sound of firearms.   Very distinct yung bass for each type of machine gun, lalo na yung kay Al Pacino.   :)

Latest movies I have watched that have good LFE

Van Helsing (story sux tho)

DOMINO DTS-ES

Not just awesome music, surrounds and LFE. But even the HF noises are just SO CLEAR!!!

Every shot fired, water splash, glass break, guitar string plucked, speech, clinking noises, etc are excellently encoded in DTS-es with stunning clarity.

Steam Boy
BOY, the movie had lots of LFE. the last 45 mins of it was so full of it.

Watch this movie many times and break in na yung sub mo  ;D.

There was a scene there with the "steam armored men" that had very tight bass (explosions).

My friend lend me his American Haunting yesterday and was surprise on how good the LFE and surround sound was. The haunting eerie voice of the witch circles around most of the time and lots of LFE while the havoc starts inside the house.

Joy Ride

I ignored this a gazillion times at DVD sales. I never expected this to be a good thriller.

The DD is soundtrack quite good, lots of LFE and surround action. Crank up your sub for this movie for fun. When the trucks pass by, they will come from your surrounds and pan to the front. A good sub can really jolt your sofa & make you feel like trucks are beside you.

just watch the 'Infernal Affairs', a local HK film on which the new 'THE DEPARTED' movie is based.

its on DTS format with english subtitles...

the background music has lots of LFE's, the closing of the steel doors the gun shots are very good...there are some scenes that it seems you are in the middle of it ant the bass seems to be all around you....there is some scene that my pants are shaking a bit because of the bass....hehehe and the glass of my cabinet is rattling including the windows......

this is the latest that I've watch and I enjoy it...the movie itself is very good....

I watch this out of curiousity, If director Martin Scorsese find these movie in HK quite good and actually has to make a re-make of it, then this must be a good movie....

but honestly, after watching this movie, I cant wait for 'The Departed'..... the original HK flick is hard to top IMO....:)

latest DVD that I've watched with very good sounding reference (although this movie is relatively old already, being released in 2002 I think)

HERO (Jet Lee, Tony Leung, Zhang Ziyi) with english subtitle...and in DTS-es

lots of good sounding scene, sword fight sequence, thunderous horse running etc.... (and the PQ is awesome too, very good cinematography).

Yun nga lang lumilipad yung mga tao...hehehehe (typical chinese movie)

"Destiny's Child in Las Vegas" - "Soldiers"

"Celine Dion in Las Vegas" - Titanic theme song

BD version of "Flight of the Phoenix." While this is a BD, I guess its still valid to post the *warning* here.

This disc is notorious for having very strong LFE. I waited a long time before I thought my set-up was ready (2 big subs, bass traps, correct bass management settings at the AVR, proper Audyssey calibration). Watched it over the weekend and the LFE is indeed incredible - might be the strongest and most continuous that I've heard. Maybe the strongest LFE is during the plane crash but actually, even the background sounds throughout the movie have really deep LFE.

The end-result is that it blew my Velodyne HGS-15, which I had suspected of having a slight damage. Now, it is really gone.  :'( :'(

sinira ang Velo mo???   wow.

Sunshine BD version rin, I have to turn down the sub levels.   Strong LFEs too, right at the opening scenes.
