im a newbie when it comes to audio setups, balak ko sana active speakers like swans for 10-12k. Pero with that budget naisip ko mag mini amp + wharfdale 10.1. I was looking at Dayton DTA-1. Kaya ba nun? and balak ko ikabit sa pc/phone.

Wharfs>Dayton DTA-1>pc/phone.

Or mas ok Dayton DTA-100a?
And what else is needed for the above setup to work? Thanks

Topping TP22 on the other hand is ideal for jazz, vocals due to its tamed bass. Ang Dayton DTA 100A mag shut off forever.

Based on experience yan bro.

kuya mon,

T-amp Discussion Thread
« Reply #1477 on: Feb 24, 2013 at 10:48 AM »
Question lang mga masters, is the dayton DTA-1 the only battery powered t-amp available here? I'm trying to set my bedroom system to be mobile, meaning 2.1 with the satellites and the t-amp able to leave with me for out of town trips...

I actually have a DTA-1 right now, borrowed from my cousin, but it's need of repair na... Its looking like the volume knob contacts need cleaning or replacement... Would you know where I can have it repaired?

Thanks in advance!

yes, but you have to get yourself an electronic cross-over network....since the t-amp and your pioneer have different gain structures, tuning your system can be a bit tricky.....

I would like to know kung Tripath nga ba ang amp section nito and if the price is worth it?

Nakita ko lang po sa SULIT.
http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/view+classifieds/id/8622245/Motorola+DCP501+Audio+Video+Receiver+5+x+100+watts+with+DVD+Player?referralKeywords=tripath&event=Search+Ranking,Position,1-3,3

Motorola DCP501 Audio Video Receiver

    DVD/CD Single Disc Tray
    AM/FM Tuner
    Digital Cable Receier
    5 x 100 watts per channel
    Tripath Class T-solid state amplifier
Dolby Digital (5.1), Dolby Pro Logic I/II, DTS
Toslink and Coaxial Digital Audio Inputs
    110V with Free Transformer

First-off it says it's Tripath. Analog nga lang and lumang modelo. But I'm after the amps section as I'm planning of using HTPC and/or Android TV Box as A/V source paired to an LED 480p projector for my humble HT setup and some Audio listening na din on the side. I really can't find on the net any info that confirms it's a Tripath amp. . .

TIA and more power!!

Planning to modify my Lepai 2020A+ Amp.

Sa nabasa ko (http://techtalk.parts-express.com/showthread.php?226235-Modding-the-Lepai-T2020A), capacitor brands are Panasonic & Nichicon.

Just in case wala locally nung mentioned brands, ano po alternative and where to buy?

TIA!

Planning to buy wharfedale crystals (30.2) together with a T-amp for my desktop (to follow nalang yung subwoofer). Is it a good setup?

Also, what T-amp to buy? I've been seeing Lepai, Sonic brands.

bro get a more efficient speakers(higher db) or get a higher wattage amp(t-amp or anything else).86db lang kasi yung wharf and the lepai/sonic TA2020 is only 20wpc i think, kung gusto mo small footprint at power efficiency try class D. tutunog naman yan pero baka sobrang taas na ng volume.

if you really wanna use the lepai t-amp, I suggest that you bring it to the store/seller then audition every speaker that you can afford using that t-amp,in that case you can actually hear how it really sounds, db is just a number to indicate how loud a speaker can be but most of the time we don't listen to music because of its loudness but because we like how it sound,in short, amp and speaker matching is also critical so you have to audition it. i used an 89db speaker before paired with TA2020 t-amp but not lepai its SMSL 10-11 oclock volume level is ok for me for easy listening.

the lepai amp is lp-2020a+

LP-2020a+ is the model of lepai but the t-amp chip it uses is called TA2020.
here's some of the info from the datasheet

Code: [Select]
“Audiophile” Quality Sound

0.03% THD+N @ 10W 4Ω
0.1% THD+N @12W 4Ω
0.18% IHF-IM @ 1W 4Ω

High Power

13W @ 8Ω, 10% THD+N
23W @ 4Ω, 10% THD+N
38W EIAJ* VDD=14.4V @4Ω
*saturated square wave output

High Efficiency

88% @ 12W 8Ω
81% @ 20W 4Ω

to give you an idea of its power/wattage on diff speaker impedance

94db up is what you want for class T amps. That pretty much narrows it down  to really old speakers or diy. There are efficient drivers from Visaton, Fostex, and Audio Nirvana. AN has a local vendor. See the ads section. Anthony Audio has high efficiency speakers too. These speakers don't come cheap.

cost around 6k for a finished product...your speaker sensitivity is 90db so that the output is plenty, the real question is, magustuhan mo kaya ang sound?

^yung mga T-amp na low power kailangan 95db just like a tube amp,
SMSL 36a is based on the TA-2020 chipset, a proven tried and tested chip,
i suspect marami nyan sa Raon, at 12 volts, power is very limited,
there are T-Amps, class D that are high powered, they can drive subs,
hindi sila masyadong mamimili ng speakers

a tube buffer or a tube line amp is a good tweak for that amp...
