@ DOHbert

Salamat. I think the first option will be best for me. Thanks a lot. Now to the Bat Mobile.

Saan pala nakakabili ng Blackgates dito sa Pinas?

One nice thing about digital amps/t-amp is that when they distort, di sya kasing irritating as solid states, pero di din kasing swabe ng tubes pag nag distort. Ang pinakamataas na volume level before distortion is around 3 o'clock or 75% full volume setting. Yung 88db nyo sir can be easily driven by the t-amp, tapos with a tube preamp, pwede mong taasan ng konti ang gain nito to give the amp a little help.

Eto yata problema sa T-amp yung distortion nya. Mareremedyuhan ba to ng input tweaks?

sir maynard, accdg. to other websites' forums, tweaks do improve the s.i. t-amp. When using the stock t-amp be aware of its limitation (estimated 6watts-8ohms / 9watts-4ohms). maski anong amp. basta sinagad sa kapasidad eh nakakairita ang distortion at nakakasira pa ng tweeter ang pag nag-clip (SS amp). yun nga ibang amp. maski hindi driven hard ay nakakairita pa rin ang tunog pero itong t-amp sweeeeeet, klaro, detalyado. pang balentyms!!!  ;D ;D ;D

p.s..... try "handyman's" fostex bookshelf speaker (94db) swak sa t-amp! :)

Actually you can barely hear it pero present sya at mid-levels. So ayon ang pinaka weakness nya I think, you cant drive your audio at full blast and brag its bit perfection.

BTW. Saan ba merong Blackgate Capacitors?

sir, depende sa listening area and preference (obviously loud & hataw) suggest u try the ff: to maximize potential of the "stock" t-amp.
1.use high sensitivity speakers - ex. klipsch RF series floorstanders 94db +available sa spectra,
parksq.mkti or fostex based diy speakers (check out  fellow member "handyman" 's fostex or
   living voice,wilson,vintage jbl,alteclansing,lowther etc all 100+db.....
2. you may wana pair the t-amp with acoustic research tds202 sound enhancer
check out audiokarma.org forums for user opinions/reviews on this combi
3. use a preamplifier (dennispm used tono tubes, ding45 used cambridge azur integrated, i've
used nadc320bee) or preamp./processor (yamaha avr with front preamp-out & you can use
    the  subwoofer out)
4. tweak the t-amp
5. if still not satisfied, use a SS amp preferably vintage.

*   i dont know where blackgates caps are available but if i remember rite noong 90's may office sa west ave.QC nag-ads sa buyandsell mag. .... check out the tuberos or diy guys d2 or sa pinoyaudio or WS. i'm sure alam nila ;D

Ang alam ko nakahubad si Charlize.....madali nang kabitan ng mga connectors, may guide naman yan how to connect the speaker posts, etc....     Si Monica is a DAC, kaya lang satisfied na ako sa DAC ng NAD C542 ko kaya I have no intention of getting one.... BTW cant seem to connect to DITparadise

Is that the amp3 from 41hz? Yep, with the amp3 or amp6, you'll hear more details from your music compared even to a heavily modded sonic impact t-amp. Just a few minutes back, I was listening to a Jheena Lodwick's "Make it with you" from the Getting to know you album. I have 2 copies of the same song, one copied on a black cdr at 8x speed, the other on a cheapy platinum, printable top (white) which was probably burned at 40x, and with the amp6, the difference in sound due to media type or at least burn speed was pretty evident. The black cdr produced a more expansive soundstage, the guitar was playing from the right side but every pluck of the strings was resonating from right to right/center area, and the lower treble was definitely better, and overall much warmer. The platinum on the otherhand reproduced the guitar solely on the right side of the soundstage, voice was a bit thinner compared to the black cdr, and generally, sound was more "malata" and less musical. It's with these kind of revealing amps that I actually begin to appreciate such "trivial" things as burn speed and media color, problem now is which copy is more identical to the original copy ;D

ding45, oweidah,

So sorry guys but I already have my hands full with projects at the moment, so many orders, so little time.

I have also been commisioned to prep for a coming amp2 project, this still falls under class d even at 2x 300w so I'll post pics here when it arrives. I was told that assembly is kinda tricky, but unlike amp3 and amp6, this one is not gonna be boring.

On the lighter side...

Charlize T = Aeon Flux = Nice butt!  ;D I never thought of her as a class d amp though.  ;D ;D ;D

David,

I have been using black cdr for almost 2 years now since I posted a documentary that I did somewhere using different drives and discs. It seems that the black ones are more consistent to sound like the originals.

cheers

Pahabol lang, sa mga interesado, I will try talking to my Singaporean supplier if he can get Charlize and Monica for us, tapos padala nalang nya thru FedEx or something. What you guys think?
