A bit of an update regarding my correspondence with Yeo, he admits they're on a backlog for both kits, the Charlize and Monica2. I'm trying to negotiate with him, if I can get the kits bare, then I'll assemble them once they arrive, so that it will be much faster than waiting for him to fulfill all pending orders. I'm initially placing an order of 20 kits for Monica2 and Charlize, he was shocked and said he can't supply that many kits as of now. I'll post an update again for any further developments. So far, things aren't looking too rosey.  :-\

Just an update. Yeo is not willing to give us any discount for the group buy, so selling price is still the same as that listed online. For the monica2, a completely assembled kit is $125, plus freight of $20 (just to be sure), then local tax of 12% of total price, so roughly $196 or around P10,000. For the Charlize, its $90 for the kit, $20 for freight and tax, so it will be around $123 or P6,400. If you're still ok with these prices, please list your name, and the kit/kits you're interested in, so I can consolidate all the orders, and have Yeo commit to us a delivery date. Thanks a lot.

Another update, Yeo just emailed back, still can't commit on a delivery date for the kits because: 1) they don't  allow  shipment of knocked down units, tapos tayo nalang magbuo para madali, ayaw daw nila ng sakit ng ulo pag di natin mapatakbo, which is understandable naman, 2) they have a big big backlog, so matatagalan pa malamang orders natin. So sabi ko, instead of 20 units each, gawin nalang 10 charlizes and 5 monica2, tapos humingi na ako ng commitment on a date for delivery, wait nalang pag nag-email pabalik.

http://www.audioreplay.net/tc754eb.html

mukhang as the front panel label says..simple phono preamp (so you can attach a TT to the t-amp via the tc754) and three(3) inputs for line level sources (cd tape tuner tv etc)..whether it enhances or degrades the t-amp, ewan.
i think meron similar products ang avesco sa roosevelt ave. /avenida / cubao...QED brand pero 220vac not 12vdc  ;D

I need to finalize all orders for the Charlize and Monica2. According to Yeo, backlog for Monica2 is 1 week, mukhang kaya na ipadala yung Charlize. I need one final headcount for those interested in the kits, after which, I'll PM you my bank account number for the amount to be deposited, then I'll send the money to Yeo via T/T. Thanks.

Ok, Yeo's giving us 5 Charlize, which is already assembled. So if I can have your orders and money deposited within the week, much better. So I can do the fund transfer on Monday, then have the kits either on Thursday or Friday. One of the 5 is mine by the way.  ;D Adriane wants 2, ding wants 1, so that leaves 1 more kit up for grabs.

pass muna ako :) just for the sake of anyone curious why two? i plan to use an amp for each speaker using 1 channel each so parang monoblock ang dating. Given the relatively low cost I can try this experiment as the amps as you know are bridged, using just one channel is safe and should have less cross-talk interference hence more clear....assuming your speakers are sensitive and revealing enough :) but alas i would have to order at a later time...other priorities have to be attended to first :)

Any recommended small - tiny speaker for the T amp with 90+ sensitivity, with decent bass if possible? I just asked a relative to get 2 t amps for me in the U.S.

I have a 89 sensitivity bookshelf but its big & bulky for our small bedroom. I was hoping to have small satellite type speaker to complement my LCD tv.

TIA

Has any tried to repair a T-Amp? After 2 months of use, my left channel isn't working anymore.

Try measureing DC Offset at the output/speaker post, both left and right should have some DC voltage in the millivolts range. Next, check for 2.5v from between the input caps since the board is biased at 2.5v. If the voltages are not ok, check continuity between 1) PCB output and speaker binding post 2) PCB and amp input. Refer to TA2024 notes to see which components go to the input and output.

Hello shotgun. Is it possible that voltage is too high from your adapter? Was your amp running very hot?

If one of the channels is working, nagkaroon ng short somewhere sa side na nasira, pag over voltage kasi, mamamatay yung chip, so both channels dapat sira.

just wondering...as per this post http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=48430.0

Hmmm... In that ad, shotgun said:
"I'll throw in a 1000mAmpere Multi-Volt AC to DC adapter to the package."

So my guess is, lordfoo is using the same power supply?

By the way, is it ok to use this kind of power supply with this amp?

Merong over current and overtemperature protection ang mga tripath chips, wala lang over voltage protection. Easiest way is do the DC offset check parin to see if buhay yung channel. Di dapat naman baklasin yung amp to do the test, multi tester lang in DC millivolts setting tapos dikit sa speaker output + and - nang side na pinagdududahan.

 ;D ;D ;D

in fairness to guys who uses "off the shelf" power supplies, it is the lifeblood of your t-amp, try not to skimp on it just to save a few hundred pesos.  ::) of those psu that I built, so far wala pa naman fried t-amp.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

in times of war, it is an advantage to know your enemy - in these case, know your chips! hindi naman siguro tama yun kabit dito kabit dun or upgrade this and upgrade that - and most of all try to figure it out yourself, instead of just reading upgrade reviews.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

btw, congrats LorFoo!  ;)

At 4ohms, RMS power of the amp is 15w (assuming you're comfortable pushing the amp at 10% distortion), that's 30w for both channels, then given the efficiency of the amp, around 80%, that should be be around 36watts maximum, for 12volts input, around  3 amperes should be sufficient. For 8ohm operation, it can be lower, mga 1.5ampere is enough.
Some say its better to have higher amperage for the amp, but then again, there's an issue of benefit gained with anything higher than 3 amperes, mathematically, the load requirement of the amp, used with 4ohms speakers, with 12volts input, and maximum output of 15w (10% distortion) is just 3 ampere, tapos some guy from tripath said 1.5amperes is more than enough for the sonic impact. If you increase voltage from 12volts to 13volts (the maximum as per tripath datasheet), the ampere requirement is reduced to 2.65.
So kanya-kanya yan, but I suggest a quiet PSU section tapos well regulated. Pag bumili kayo ng mga regulated PSU from Raon or Ace Hardware, baklasin nyo, look at the innards, check particularly the filter caps and the regulator used, you can get a general idea of the quality of the PSU. Hope this helps
