in preparation for the arrival of obami*, "ate V1" amp (will be used as 55watts bridged "mono"); i hooked up dual sonicimpact stealth-mod t-amps as "monoblocks" w/ non-biwireable infinity primus 160. T1 to drive left speaker T2 to drive right speaker. cdp as source, no tubepreamp used. since the t-amp is already bridged, it utilizes ta2024chip's 15watts for each speaker; unlike if used as standalone t-amp(5-6wpc) for 2 speakers.

kayang-kaya idrive ang 90db/8ohms primus160 with lots of bass but still retaining the mids and hf excellence!!!

@5k max. range only speakers that i can think of are vintage pioneer, sansui etc or daii klipsch-clone 93db.
i wouldnt even recommend my infinity primus160 90db easy to drive but good only for dual t-amp (one t-amp/speaker) not single t-amp. imo, 95db+ speakers are best for t-amps

i dont think its available anymore.

afaik, wala locally available modules. even sonic impact, wala na.

Looks like a new phase is dawning at least sa 'digital' amps. NAD M2. Available na kaya? Kaya lang 4K usd.

Walang analog amplification pag ginamit mo digital input, all digital signal path. Hindi na DAC, kundi PCM to PWM converter, maging PPC kaya ang tawag sa?

yup, thats why i posted the virtue iceblock monoblocks. same power, cheaper pa pala pero not as massive

i was trying to aim for rustic looking to match my furniture.

not for everyone, i know.

mods are michael mardis stealth mods and made it into power amp only.

nope, it's not the original version, v2 na ata ito. the components (resistors and caps) para sa stealth mods are on top (chip side). hanapin mo yung picts nung kay audio1st sa diyaudio para makita mo kung saan yung mga smd na tatanggalin.

it sounds better imo. yung bass di sya boomy, mas defined na sya ngayon. dati kapos yung bass (di bumababa) pero boomy (malakas yung upper bass range). kailangan talaga sa kanya 89db and up na speakers, bilis nyang mag clip. hehehe

the extra 2 binding posts are for the power section para pwede iba-ibang sources. i'm burning it in now using a sealed lead acid battery na may charger na naka parallel.
