HERO Channel
« on: Oct 12, 2005 at 04:31 PM »
Available only for sky cable subscribers in Metro Manila. Currently in their pilot run, started last October 1, I think. For those who don't know, it's on channel 44. Btw, it only airs 4pm - 12mn. Shows available on the channel are tagalized anime, some are new and others are aired in our local channels. Here are some anime shows aired that I can remember,

Shaman King
Inuyasha
Zenki
Baki
Love Hina
Naruto
and many more...

I could be mistaken since it's a GMA-7 property, but I think I also saw the Voltes V title logo being flashed in Hero's commercials that Skycable annoyingly inserts in CNN's ad spots.

As for the channel itself, meh--I can't stand Tagalized anime; the voices are shrill, irritating, and mostly sound all the same.  :P

Who owns the HERO Channel? Based on the dozens of anime being shown on its test broadcast, some of them were previously shown by either GMA or ABS-CBN.

It's no biggie to me if Dream satellite (the service we are currently subscribed to) does not include this channel. Ok na ang Animax!

Not really. Animax has also started to air tagalized anime--Initial D is dubbed in Taglish, which makes the characters look even more ridiculous.  :P

ABS-CBN's CPI (forgot what it meant, but they're the ones doing MYX) is handling Hero Channel.

Target audience nya mga bata at dapat may "hero" concept yung mga animes/cartoons nila. MAganda sana kung may time-slot silang ibibigay para sa mga matatandang anime fans. Medyo pangit reception ng Hero sa amin though.

CPI = creative programming, inc.

they handle lifestyle channel, cinema one and myx 2nd gen (formerly vid-ok).
