Together with Fantastic Four and Episode III, these DVDs will be down to P250/P299 in more or less three months.

I hope that what you wish for would happen, I'll definitely buy this the moment it goes down to that price.  Has anyone bought the R3 release yet?  Any reviews?

I agree,  if we buy the DVDs just being released now at 900, wala na tayong bibilhin pag nagsale.   ;D

tip lang sa mga DVD collector, boycott natin ang pagbili ng 750 at 900 dvds, para mapaaga ang sale nila... ;D

then again think the other way around.  what if kaya lang nag sale ang viva e marami silang stocks? just to clear their warehouses kaya nila isinale.
what if this time they dont order that much?

Good point!  Actually that's what I was thinking with EpIII.  If you haven't noticed, parang nga konti lang units ang na release nila for EpIII.

Maybe that's the reason why already.

if that is the case, you run the risk of not getting a copy in the end. kung hintay ka ng hintay tapos di
naman nila replenish yung stock, patay kang bata ka.  mapapamahal ka pang lalo. :-\

For Viva this is a definite risk you will take. Some recent examples are:
1. The Day After Tomorrow (almost never to be found)
2. Master and Commander 2-disc (random copies here and there lang)
3. Mulan 2-disc (random copies here and there lang)
4. Star wars Episode II (random copies here and there lang)

It seems after the over-stock of I-Robot, Man on Fire, etc, Viva may have decreased the number of DVDs they order. I agree that Episode III DVDs are not that abundant. Even the Kingdom of Heaven DVD na parang walang bumibili at first, but sightings are becoming less frequent nowadays.

I am not sure local distributors are free to choose the quantity of DVDs they order for a given title.  I am informed that these are fixed minimum quantities they have to order from US distributors to grant them local distribution licenses.  Anything below these quanitity, the title won't be released locally.  That is why a lot of titles are not released locally because local distributors are not confident they can move the inventory for a given minimum order.

I rented this DVD from Video City SM Southmall yesterday. According to the person at the counter, I was the first to check this out since they just opened the DVD. I haven't seen a copy from Astro so it seems Video City got it first being a Viva release.

It indeed has DTS track and Tagalog subtitles, but it's only single disc.

astro plus has this copy already. saw it today in sm manila.  costs PhP900.00.  it wasn't the hk or taiwan release that was posted above.  simple lang ang packaging - the usual viva releases. i'm still thinkng of getting this one despite the fact the two leads have been fooling us with their so-called relationship...

chism: jennifer burned her wedding gown upon learning about brad's adoption of angelina's kids (despite not admitting about their relationship)...  ::)

900 bucks for a single disc title is expensive. Yun ngang Titanic, 3 discs, 900 bucks lang. Yun ang sulit. Packed with features pa. I'll wait for this na lang when it goes on sale. And given Fox's track record, I wouldn't be surprised if an ultimate edition gets released a few months from now.

My local R3 isn't cropped, either. It's framed exactly like my Unrated R1. If I'm not mistaken, all Fox R3 releases are pressed in the same place anyway, right? So other than packaging, disc contents in the region should be the same (exception: Fantastic 4).

Animated menu siya. Una diretso, tapos tumatagilid ng dalawang beses, kasabay ng pagpalit ng music.
