just got corpse bride because i kinda liked the packaging.  the lenticular one at that.

Same here. Had to choose between this and Dukes of Hazzard Unrated this afternoon. Not really a big fan of animation (with some exceptions) but the CB packaging is really cool plus the movie itself has been getting good reviews from both critics and film buffs. Have to see what the fuss is about.

Sure, years ago. I bought Town & Country and How To Kill Your Neighbour's Dog at some Blockbuster in Ohio. And House of Mirth a year later in a Borders shop in Charlotte, NC naman.

Do I regret it? Only the HTKYND lang naman. One of the most boring films I've ever seen  :P

Shrek 2 is latest in my list. I've seen the 1st part twice in cinemas and a few times in HBO though.

Actually 90% of the DVD I bought, I never watched in the Theater.  I don't know, I am just not a theater guy, most of the time, even if I liked a movie, I wouldn't watch it during it's theatrical run, and just watch it after I get the DVD.

For one, I passed on Pixar's Cars.

I usually base my purchases on a DVD's reviews, feedbacks, and whether the subject matter is of my interest.

Most of the DVDs I have, I didn't watched them in theaters, even on cable. All of my Asian films too (Chinese, Korean), I haven't seen them before, because they aren't shown in our local theaters.

Whenever I buy a movie on DVD that I haven't seen yet, I usually have a good feeling that the movie is good therefore I barely have any misses in my collection but, there are some films that werent as good as I felt

Hits
Lawrence of Arabia
Once Upon a Time in America
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Lion in Winter(1968)
Iron Giant
Unforgiven
Little Women(1933)
To Have & Have Not(1940)
King of Kings

Misses(not as good as I felt)
Around the World in 80 Days(1956)  = I personally feel that 10 Commandments should be Best Picture of
                                                             1956 and not this.
Time After Time
Mists of Avalon

Recent purchase was Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift... Somehow, I'm obligated to buy the sequels eventhough I haven't watched them if they are good or not. It's nice to see that you have the complete set of titles in your collection. Coming titles that I have to buy are Garfield 2 and Texas Chainsaw 2.  :(

been hearing good reviews all the time for this film, and im positive there wont be any regrets. i've been more careful and selective lately of my dvd purchases. the hd-dvd & blu-ray fever is starting to make me think... wag na gastos ng gastos unless collectible or a favorite film  ;)

back to topic...

recently preordered OldBoy (tartan 3disc) with Azumi (2disc), both r1 releases this november. i've been craving for these films the past 2 years, and been waiting for a boxset with sequels until now. i wont mind double dipping for these titles for an upgrade, or whenever that dream boxset is released  ;)
