The Mists of Avalon (R3 from Astro) - Since wala ng TNT sa cable, naisip ko that this would be the only chance for me to get to see this miniseries (the places I rent from tend to go for glossy R1 blockbusters kasi). At the 2:15 minute mark, I was thinking, "Aba, it's better than I expected, sulit naman pala talaga," but at around 2:45, I was thinking, "I guess I won't be watching this again until after a really long time." It's not bad, but because of its length and subject matter, it has little to moderate replay value. Hindi naman lugi, pero hindi rin sulit na sulit (mostly because hindi rin pala gaano kalaki yung role ni Joan Allen, who was a large factor in my buying this DVD). Don't get me wrong though, the miniseries was very well-made and enjoyable, Julianna Margulies was fantastic. I'm just suffering from post-purchasing-a-DVD-I've-never-seen-before scruples.

Based on reviews I bought:

1) Sid & Nancy - since I've read that the Criterion Collection is already out of print
2) George Lucas In Love - Hey, it's a great "indie" flick.
3) The Psychedelic Furs Live - The reunion concert of one of my favourite post punk / new wave bands.

Constantly. Maybe 80% of my collection. I rarely go to the cinema except for blockbusters where you need the theatrical experience to fully appreciate the special effects/cinematography.

I also like watching series/miniseries which I know have little chance of ever being shown on local TV. British hits like This Life, Coupling, Cold Feet. A&E's Horatio Hornblower. Big Brother, the reality-TV phenomenon that swept the world (except the US) 2 years ago. And fortunately, I found all of these at Amazon-UK.

Only on DVD that I saw (well of course I also bought) Tromeo & Juliet Film. A film made by troma, which took me 4 years looking for it since 1997. Just last year I was able to find one at this Video Store in Universal City Walk for $20

Citizen Kane. I can't not see AFI's no. film of all time. It's a good film but I still think Godfather is a much better movie.

Just bought AI: Artificial Intelligence...  Never got the chance to see this movie in theaters...  I've read mixed reviews of this movie from all places...  It's either you love it or you hate it, no middle ground (kinda like Moulin Rouge)...  I'll just gonna have to go and watch it myself and make up my own mind on the matter...   :)
