Just got word from Warner. The SEs haven't been released by customs yet. Was supposed to be out last weekend. They'll get back to me once they've firmed up a date.

Released na raw yung 499 2Disc version. Wala pa yung with snow globe.

Saw the actual gift set at barnes & Nobles this afternoon..for me...i dont like it... toy train looks cheap.JMHO.

According to Warner, the gift sets will be delivered later today but they can't guarantee if the stores will immediately make it available or wait until tomorrow. Better call first. Also, (and this is the not-so-good news), there's been a pricing adjustment due to an internal miscommunication. And just to make sure nobody gets the wrong idea, it's not due to E-VAT. Mali lang talaga.

Anyway, the 2-disc widescreen is still Php499 but the gift set box is now Php750. They'll send over a sample of the packaging for me to photograph which I'll post later this afternoon.

Okay I have the R3 gift set sample. Our digital camera's being used for a shoot so I can't post a photo right now.

The box looks exactly like the Taiwan R3 version posted by Hemisphere on the previous page. The back of the box mirrors the R1 version above including the "Proof of Purchase" seal. Warner used metallic ink which adds a very nice sheen to the overall package.

Don't want to sound like a cheapskate, but suddenly the gift set is no longer that attractive ...

Upon hearing of the new price of the giftset, I've finally decided to buy just the 499 2disc widescreen edition. Budget ko lang kasi is 1,000. But I was willing to add an extra 100 for the giftset.

I still have to buy Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. The extra 150 is already way too much for me. But this is still a bargain considering the R1 of this is around 1,400.

Thanks always for the inside info. At least we won't get disappointed when stepping in an astro store hoping to finally buy the giftset and be upset upon discovering the new price.
