The Criterion Collection Gift Set 2004 (Amazon.com Exclusive)

I think this used to sell for US$5,000.
Quo vadis?

Salo and Lord of The Flies , both Criterion,  are about $36 each at Amazon which seems to be the going rate for most Criterion titles.  Now if they're OOP, we can expect the price to go higher over time.

Looking at the Amazon site, most Criterion titles are quite expensive like these:

Rebel Samurai $75

Eisenstein-The Sound Years $72

Scenes from A Marriage $45

Spartacus $45

Brazil $48

Please be informed that the Salo sold for $36 is not the genuine Criterion. This is basically the problem for some Amazon Marketplace sellers ->Deceiving buyers.

Are they bootleg copies?

I did see some used Salo copies being sold for $500 up to $965 apiece.  If so, that would probably make it THE most expensive DVD title on earth.

ooooooooooooooops.............i was thinking of that term.............from country of origin,

maybe it's not the same thing..........kasi i was thinking that your korean version is not original because the features and the discs are not the same. ibang version, hindi katulad mismo ng nilabas ng dvd ng mosfilm

excuse me sir [email protected] but mine is also an original copy ???, i don't buy p*****d discs especially on great movies such as this one, it may only be a Korean region 3 release BUT it is still considered original as this term is distinguished from p*****d discs >:(.......you may browse the specs of this release at http://www.dvdfromkorea.com/ where i bought it, and here's the pic as posted at http://www.koreandvds.com/, viz:

i wonder if your copy is a true Russian release if that's what you meant by 'original' that it has to be released by the "country of origin", anong region po ba ang Russian release ninyo ::) ::) ::).......been browsing the net but i coudn't find any Russian release of this title, if your copy is actually a region 1 release, then it would not qualify as an 'original' copy either since it's a north american release, does it sir ;) ;D

i just checked my copy since there seems to be differences between the r1 & r3 Korean as posted, more particularly on the video aspect ratio & the total running time.......mine is actually in 2.35:1 aspect ratio & not in 16:9 as wrongfully posted at the korean website, BUT its posted running time of 403 min. is actually the correct one (mine exactly totalled 403.06 min.) & not 431 min. as wrongfully posted at both the amazon.com & dvdempire.com websites, & this is confirmed by the back cover art of the r1 release itself as posted at dvdempire.com, thus:
