R1 Recommendations?
« on: Nov 17, 2005 at 07:35 AM »
Well, I'm here in the US of A on a business trip and of course I might as well grab some DVDs while I'm here. Basically, I'm asking for recommendations for the collectors/importers in the group.

What R1 titles would you definitely recommend?

I have a modest budget which I can stretch depending on whether I decide to get an Xbox 360 or not. ;D In particular, I'm looking to get titles that are hard or impossible to find back there at home, or greate titles that'll be released in the next 2 weeks. I'm also not ruling out budget titles and pre-owned titles (some can be had for $10!).

Initially I thought I'd get the LOTR Extended Edition Box Set or even the Band of Brothers tin case but guess what - I can see some people in the marketplace selling these R1 set cheaper (even with the conversion rate). Go figure.

There's the Sex and the City box set with all seasons, and the Friends box set as well. I don't think maabutan ko yung Star Wars all-in-one set, though.

So, fire away your must get titles! :)

Alistair,

If you will be here in US before Nov 21 then youre in luck

Marked the following dates

Nov 22 - aside from the Opening of XBOX 360 three collectibles to get War of the Worlds LE, Polar Express LE, and KingKong tin ( Is suggest go to BestBuy as they offer exclusive bonus like the 200+page bood for War of the Worlds and an Exclusive Lithograph for Polar Express)

Nov 25 - Black Friday Sale (This is once in a year festivity of retail shops that cuts off regular price item up to 75% off - including DVDs)

I suggest if you are targetting LE's and Collectibles. The main point of stores to watch for are

Best Buy, Walmart, Frys and Target

but if you would like to maximize your purchase at Bestbuy and get exclusive freebies try applying for Bestbuy Rewards Zone.
