Some movies are so good for us that we both have the DVD and the Soundtrack.

Mine are:

Sound of Music
A Night at the Roxbury
Rambo

Let's see, I have a few, off the top of my head:

My Best Friend's Wedding
We rented the LD of this first (didn't watch it theatrically), liked the soundtrack and purchased the CD first. Purchased the DVD when it went on sale.
Bossa Nova
Saw the CD at Tower, purchased it. Saw the movie at G4 Art Cinema. Purchased the DVD as soon as it was released.
The Green Mile
We saw the movie at G4 as well. The song "Have You Ever Seen a Dream Walking" always seems to haunt me whenever I watch certain Stephen King movies. After finding out that the soundtrack CD was not available locally, I decided to make a trial order with Amazon. I eventually purchased the R1 DVD soon as available locally, about 2 weeks before US release date.
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
Saw the movie at the theater, liked the music (Johnny Mercer songs), bought the CD. When the R3 DVD was available, bought it.

I have other soundtracks like Woman on Top and Blast from the Past, but haven't gotten around to getting the DVD's yet. As for the musical classics, I prefer to view and listen.

I would have to say...MOULIN ROUGE.
I just love all the songs...well, except the Material Girl medley or whatever.
The DVD is great, pero yung soundtrack on CD is medyo bitin. Sana sinama nila yung mga actual na kinanta sa movie.

After watching these DVDs, I immediately went online to buy their soundtrack CDs:

Cinema Paradiso
Central Station
Todo Sobre Mi Madre
The Red Violin
Tango
Buena Vista Social Club
Moulin Rouge! (both soundtrack albums)

But for such movies (English Patient, Being John Malkovich, Talented Mr. Ripley, Shakespeare in Love, Remains of the Day, etc) wherein I liked only the theme song and not the whole soundtrack, I just went to Napster, hehe.

Forrest Gump - I hate the movie, but I still got it on DVD. I think this is one of the best soundtracks ever, though.

Pretty Woman - Come on, this is one of the quintessential early 90s soundtracks. It's a must have, and the film is a feel-good guilty pleasure.

F*R*I*E*N*D*S - The CD was an impulse buy from a TV show fanatic, and I regretted the purchase. I maybe liked 3 songs in the entire CD.

Sex and the City - Surprisingly, the CD does not contain the version of the soundtrack we actually hear during the opening of the show; also, its first song is "Sex Bomb", which is actually the theme from Darren Starr's other show, Grosse Pointe.

And cheesy as they may be, when Flashdance and Footloose come out on DVD, I'm definitely getting them, and I already own the soundtracks of these films. You can take the guy out of the '80s, but you can't take the '80s out of the guy.

I love the soundtrack (90's Seattle sound) got my CD when I am still in college and just recently bought the DVD. Great to see the guys from Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice In Chain do cameo roles.

Finally got an original Notting Hill CD. Nainis na ako duon sa Julia Roberts Collection na pirata na gradually dumadagdag ang popcorn noise.

I'm thinking about getting the Meet Joe Black next naman.

As in the Soundtrack and Original Musical Score? Or the first Soundtrack and Return to Titanic?

I got the Original Musical Score both in CD and in DTS-CD. Not that much difference sa DTS-CD though, grabe pa mahal.

Since were here in the topic of having the matching soundtracks, have you thought of making your non-regular edition DVD titles more collectible by getting the matching soundtracks?

Pearl Harbor Vista Series is coming out with 4 discs. Getting the soundtrack would make it a 5-disc thing.

Moulin Rouge would be a 4-disc thing with the 2 soundtrack CDs.

The Lord of the Rings Gift Set which is already 5 discs with the National Geographic DVD would be a 6-disc thing with the Soundtrack.

Plus, if you noticed that Music Stores sell less and less Soundtrack titles nowadays.

It is not actually a soundtrack (I guess ??)

I got Mariah Carrey's #1s CD at first

and about December last year I was able to obtain the DVD version

The Piano - Great score composed by Michael Nyman (who composed a lot of scores for Peter Greenaway and recently with Neil Jordan for The End of the Affair). I also have the novel and I'm looking for the screenplay.

You can say that again. I'm definitely getting these two when they come out. Same with Saturday Night Fever - although that is more of the 70s. SNF is slated to come out at Astro this month, r3.
