What's your Favorite Mockumentary on dvd?
« on: Feb 27, 2002 at 03:04 PM »
I just caught the second half of Welcome to Hollywood on HBO today. (Note this was lunchtime and it was either this or MTB.  :P ) Sucky film but seminally interesting because of Angie Everhart. It got me to asking - how many "mockumentaries" are there?  Are any of them any good?

Do you like these?

This Is Spinal Tap

John Cleese on How to Irritate People

Waiting for Guffman

Best in Show and This is Spinal Tap are on my list.

Too bad Pinoy film producers feel that mockumentaries are a non-market here in the Philippines. Given our sense of humor, we'd probably be very good at doing this sort of thing.

fran - Welcome to the forum! You can try Astrovision for vcds of Spinal Tap. I sometimes see these on the sale rack, 100 kesos ata ... or you could post a "Wanted to buy" at the DVD Marketplace

My favorite - Drop Dead Gorgeous, starring the adorable Kirsten Dunst as a wannabe beauty queen.

Spinal Tap - the 18" stonehenge replica alone is well-worth the price of the dvd.  O0

Curse of the Blair Witch... the mockumentary on the Blair Witch Project. This "promotional prelude" is a great starter to watch if you havent seen the actual movie.  :)
