kung sumasayad yung body ng cartridge mo ibig sabihin sobra bigat.

there are a couple of things you need to setup in a turntable, such as:
- tracking force
- anti-skate
- azimuth
- overhang

anong turntable ba yan? anong arm? anong cartridge?

you will need  tracking for gauge to ensure proper tracking weight as failure to do so will result in eventual damage to both the stylus, cantilever, and the vinyl itself.

the recommended tracking force for your cartridge is only 1.25grams.

Thanks sir arnoldc. Shure M92E recommends optimum tracking force of 1.25 grams.  How can i determine that this specification is achieved.  Are there any gadget able to measure such?  Thanks again.

you need a tracking force gauge like the Shure SFG or Clearaudio (cheap one, not the digital) or something equivalent.

Is your counterweight labeled with numbers similar to Technics TTables? You can use that as a rough guide.

Actually, don't just turn the counterweight to the number. Try to balance the stylus end of the tonearm with the counterweight. If you notice, the numbers are probably separate from the counterweight itself. Once the arm neither tips forward nor back, set the numbers to the "0" position without moving the counterweight. Then slowly move both the number and counterweight together to the desired VTF.

It would be a good idea to make sure the turntable is perfectly level to get the optimum vertical tracking force.  If the turntable is not level, you would have lateral forces adversely affecting the tracking angle and force.  Try borrowing a "level" from a carpenter to see that the turntable is correctly level on all axes parallel to the turntable plane.  If your TT has those telescopic feet, you can adjust them for correct levelness.  Do this before adjusting the tracking force from the counterbalance.

i believe the counterweight "weight" is dependent on the cartridge...just try to "google" the recommended weight for your cart...as for me, counterweight won't matter even if LP is 180g or 200g or ordinary, thanks! :)

The weight of the LP has nothing to do with tracking force.

BUT....

You may have to increase the tracking force on certain LPs with less than ideal conditions.  Meaning, if it's warped, so that the stylus jumps out of the groove more often.  Or if it's off-center, so that the cartridge wiggles.   If you happen to use LPs produced in the mid 70s, you may come across some very lightwight or thin LPs produced to save on the material which was getting expensive as vinyl is petroleum-based.    These lightweight LPs have a tendency to warp easily.

;) Problem fixed thanks.  I really enjoyed the sweet sound of the vinyls.  All frequencies are clear even at low settings.  Anyway, does different brands of carts differs in sonic output quality of vinyls.  What brands do you recommend for optimum performance?  Thanks.

Yes, very much so.     But optimizing performance is often limited to the tonearm's effective mass and geometry. Matching the right cartridge to the tonearm is critical.  The best cartridge may not be a good match to your tonearm.

Also, be careful to use only cartridges accepted by your preamp.  There are essentially 2 types of cartridges, MM (Moving Magnet) and MC (Moving Coil) .  Some phono preamps allow the choice.  Just check to ensure you got the right setting.

pareng cire,

JOY dishwashing at sponge lang ang kailangan mo diyan. pwede ka rin gumamit ng brush para matanggal yung dumi sa lp.

Paki search sa google "DIY Record Cleaning Fluid". Marami doon pero usually Pure distilled water with a Small amount of Joy.

Brush? I would caution using a "brush" on the LP unless we're talking about a specified LP cleaning brush - not just any kind...
