It's an excellent season, actually... and you're very lucky you missed "Family Edition."  ;D

They carrying it live Down Under this season, or are you back in town?

No am sadly back in Oz. And we're behind by 2 episodes. I don't know why these damn Aussie TV stations can't do the live feed. Would you believe we still don't have the newest season on Idol? Geez.

Aww... the Philippines' loss is Oz' gain, at least. They're lucky to have you!  :)

Strange that Third World countries can get "live" American Idol feeds but Oz can't. I wonder if it has something to do with the success of Oz Idol - maybe it's a rights thing like what happened with Pinoy Big Brother not being on TFC in the States despite American BB not being on the air.

**********

Warning:

CBS has just moved The Amazing Race in the States from Tuesdays at 10:00PM to Wednesdays at 8:00PM. Considering that and the fact that DST starts this weekend in the States, our Studio 23 Live Feed should now be on Thursdays at 8:00AM.

Set your VCRs/DVRs accordingly.  :)

I think this is the first time the Yield actually got a team eliminated. I really don't understand why they chose to use the Yield on the team they knew was right behind them instead of the one that still hadn't arrived. That would've been a much safer option if they were just using the Yield as insurance that they wouldn't come in last.

I don't think Lake & Michelle realized that Ray & Yolanda (who got lost while driving) were also behind them. They looked like they made the decision on the assumption that they were the last 2 teams on that leg.

^^I think that as each team arrives and passes the Yield point, the TAR producers remove their team pictures, so they can't be used anymore.

I did a little online investigating. It turns out that the pictures in the Yield box are NOT removed when teams have passed. You only know how many teams are behind you with a counter. Unless you actually see a team trailing you, you really don't know who's behind you. So Lake & Michelle's Yield decision makes more sense now.

What I still don't get was why Fran & Barry were that mean to Lake & Michelle. It was okay to be secretive with them when it involved booking an earlier flight, but not to help a team out when you're about to step on the mat at the Pitstop while they're only trying to make their way to the Roadblock is just - nasty. I suppose they're just showing us the beginnings of this season's "great feud."

Do you guys visit Survivor Sucks? I thought the earlier pictures of the hippies and fratboys were just shots of them messing around, but then the third picture turned up. Okay, I didn't see that one coming!  ;D

The animosity might have stemmed from the detour involving the assembly of motorbikes in Brazil. Lake offered to help the seniors once he assembled his team's but he ended up hurrying towards the next task. Fran was expecting a step-by-step then when she should have observed Lake closely while he was doing his. Fran and Barry are good at navigating but their downfall could be their relatively weaker physical prowess.

Haven't gone to that site yet. Mapuntahan nga.

Did anyone else find today's episode boring?

I mean - counting heads? Carrying fish? And playing a game where your supposed "competition" was actually handing you the ball to give you a chance to shoot it?

The only thing I found funny about the episode was... Phil Keoghan dancing at the Pitstop.  ;D

One more thing: It's been the same teams in the top two places for too long already. For the first time since the series started, I actually WANT an Equalizer really soon, to make the final outcome of each round less predictable.

He knew it'd be a boring episode so he danced.  ;D

Too bad for the nerds but this season has been about competitiveness. Ray and Yolanda are fiercer than them. The rest of the teams are really stronger; however, the first two teams have more wits than the other four teams.

Maybe they should go to China. The cab drivers there will really make the race unpredictable. I'm looking forward to Greece though.

Jonathan. I'm currently watching what has to be the worst film of all-time - The Scorned, which stars ONLY former reality show stars. The cast includes Jonathan and Victoria, who play... "Colin and Christie."  ;D

Holy Week Alert:

Due to local customs, Studio 23 will not be signing on until 9:55AM this Thursday, so the FIRST broadcast of this week's installment of The Amazing Race will be on April 13, Maundy Thursday, at 6:00PM on Studio 23.

I expect the AXN schedule to be the same as usual, but remember, that's the one with about 2-3 minutes of the show edited out.

I dunno but Ray and Yolanda are starting to become my fave team. Must be because they are underdogs. Those frat boys are really unstoppable. Team Hippies must start staying away from Fran and Barry. Those oldies are infecting them. Overall, I still like the remaining teams.

I found it very weird that Lake & Michelle were eliminated, since there have been 7 episodes (including one two-part leg), and there are now only five racers left. So...

What happened to the "non-elimination" legs? Normally, there would've been two by now!

While watching the show, it really felt like a non-elimination leg, so the ending surprised me. I wonder if those have been removed from the game?

The CBS archive says the first non-elim in season 3 was in episode 8. Andre and Damon were the 7th team eliminated on episode 7. Were there extra episodes then?

Oh right. That was the season with two consecutive non-elimination rounds, which tricked Jon Vito & Jill into going after the Fast Forward uselessly and saved Flo from elimination. Got confused there, sorry. Though that was the season with 12 teams, so on that edition, they actually also removed one of the non-elimination rounds.

With Lake & Michelle gone, the boring, predictable stereotypes remain, with the exception of the hippies:

Joseph & Monica - boring, predictable caucasian couple
Ray & Yolanda - boring, predictable black couple
Fran & Barry - boring, predictable old couple
Eric & Jeremy - boring, predictable alpha-male types

Only BJ and Tyler have character--if they go, then it will be the most boring, predictable final four ever.  :P

I don't know. The hippies already annoy me. They're constantly mugging for the cameras, "Look at us! We're the funniest team ever!" I would've rather had last week as the non-elimination leg. It's more fun when there's a volatile male in a couple in the race. Lake's tantrums and how his wife handled them were amusing. I enjoyed the hippies' impression of him. Spot on. Luckily, Ray showed a mini meltdown tonight, and Joseph seems to have a bigger one next week. So Lake's spirit lives on!  ;D

But the fratboys annoy me even more than the hippies. I've never seen a less likeable alpha male team. I don't like Fran and Barry, but I was happy when they came in first, since finally, they showed those fratboys that it takes more than just speed and agility to make it to #1. A lesson in humility nga, with the oldest team coming in first. Their navigational skills really impress me. I'm nowhere near that good with a map.

Of the remaining teams, I'd like Joseph and Monica to win. Although unlike previous races, I really don't care if they don't.
