While it's true that R3 Harry Potter movies are way cheaper (now 350 each except Goblet which is 550), there are people who collects nothing but R1.  For those, this piece of news might be worth noting:

According to Amazon.com, Warner Bros. has decided to put on moratorium all current Harry Potter DVDs in late 2006, early 2007.  Disney style.   No mention of how long (until HD version comes out?).  The first three will go out of print 12/29/2006, while Goblet of fire will be OOP by 1/22/2007.

Also note that the R3 first Harry Potter (Sorcerer's Stone) is Fullscreen, so if you want widescreen, you might want to get the R1 version, before stocks runs out.

4-disc?  So movie lang siya?  Wala iyong extra disc?

2-discs ang mga Harry Potter DVDs (even R3), so 4-movies should be 8-discs.

Siguro special edition ng Warner para sa mga home shopping networks, na cheaper because walang mga special features.  But at P1995, it's more expensive than the R3 version (P1600 ngayon) and just marginally cheaper than the R1 version ($9.95 ngayon sa Amazon ang 1-3, $23 yata ang 4, so excluding shipping and duties, mga 2600-2700 Php lang, 2-disc widescreen edition pa...  Wonder kung Widescreen iyan...

Pero pag na-OOP  na Harry Potter, then meron kakagat sa presyong P1995...

Well, the catch would be the book like box where you can see  all the dvds (in keepcases) as you open it  ::)
