Hey this is a good deal... where did you had your tv traded in ?

Btw, I saw at Anson's that the Samsung LCD's are on sale for 89k and 99k respectively... if I am not mistaken the 99k is 5000:1 screen display capable...

wow, bumaba pala ulit price. mga brand new units ba yung on sale o display units?
I am assuming na 32 inchers sila? perhaps you're referring to the R51BX, yun yung 3000:1 contrast ratio,
ang 5000:1 mga R71BX bago lang kasi to e... it is retailing for 119,900 (32 incher)
:) kung mali naman ako at ito yung naka 99K, alright to! :)

Dalawa ang 32" models with 5000:1 contrast ratio, LA32M61B at LA32R71B. Yung LA32R71B ay nasa 99K ang price ngayon.

Actually, I noticed that a lot of the branded displays have breeched the 100K pricing for their 26" and 32" LCDs hindi lang Samsung... Very tempting na nga bumili ngayon as most of them are being offered at 12 mos 0% interest pa...

Try checking out Western Appliances and SM Appliance...

Hey JeckJeck,

Get one na... you can haggle down and take advantage of their zero interest plans...  from 12 months managed to stretch it to 18 months and you also get a freebie samsung mobile phone worth 10k that you can sell off effectively making the cost at php 89k... and comes with a free wall bracket to boot...

the only catch is that the tv/cable tuner doesn't follow the normal programming of other tv's... not sure how to explain it... it discovers all the channels without problems but the number sequence are not correct... other than that, picture's great and I think the 5000:1 contrast ratio really helps.... and the Sammy model has HDMI inputs... the equivalent Toshiba and Sony ones are way more expensive just to get the HDMI inputs...

Bakit yung 32" na hitachi ang specs niya nakalagay 800:1 ang contrast ratio pero no difference (sometimes looks even better) in PQ with the samsung

Hey mga Bro!
Got mine too. Samsung LA32R71 LCD TV,Great deal with Western Marketing Festival mall. P99K,  zero% interest 24 mos. to pay plus HTP10 DVD HTIB (for sale at other thread). Great PQ on component hookup and SVideo as well. Medyo di maganda sa local cable TV broadcast. Looking forward to upgrade to HDMI DVD players, mahal pa eh!
Sort of warning sa mga demo. Take note that they are using high quality DVD players with splitters and signal boosters (Medyo me daya) pag uwi mo and hooked your ordinary DVD player medyo iba performance. At least honest yung taga Samsung, sa iba di nila sinasabi. Hope the HDMI player is the answer. Ipon ulit.
I'm very happy to own one.

ganicru,

I paired my samsung LCD with the Neuneo 2085 upscaling DVD player using a high quality HDMI cable and the result was spectacular.  I bought the Neuneo for only P15,000.  Check out the website and you will be amazed with the specs of this little known DVD player. It is also branded as Helios 2085 and the reviews on this product are also impressive.

im looking to get one too for my xbox 360. Based on what i've seen during the E3 convention. The samsungs arent bad for gaming. Almost all demos for xbox 360s in the states use a Samsung LCD monitor. think they have a partnership or somethihng. I didnt like the lower end model of Sony, seems like there's something wrong with the colors although the panel seemed brighter than the samsungs. It didnt have an HDMI input as well.  the higher end Sony is great but way out of my budget but has all the bells and whistles

Wow Congrats pre.

Guys if you want to see side by side the difference among these models:

- the Samsung 32" R71 Model. (P99,900)
- Sony 32" S Series. (P99,990)
- Sony 32" V Series. (159,000)

Go to Abensons at Robinsons Manila if feasible for you.

The 3 models above are placed side by side and
connected to a common "HD Stream Generator".

The Samsung is connected through HDMI.
While both the Sony models are connected through Component Video cable.

See for yourself.

For me the best PQ is the sony's but I'm not willing to pay the price difference between the samsung and the sony.  My personal take on this is that the samsung and sony panels are not very different since everybody knows that sony is currently using samsung to produce it's LCD panels the advantage of the sony is probably coming from their proprietary wega engine ???

So kung kuha ako ng LCD and the budget was to be considered samsung but with all the money to burn for getting an LCD sony.......

Sir chiemonyo,

Kahapon (Independence Day) ay nandon pa iyong Side by Side setup ng Samsung and Sony.
kailan po siya pinatanggal?

The 40-inch Sony V Series is inside katabi ng mga Philips LCD. Meron din Sony doon sa area facing the entrance.

Well, my honest opinion about the side by side comparison.

The Samsung's color is quite different.
The Sony S and V Series display the color red while the Samsung display it as orange.
(Take note that the Samsug has HDMI Connection na. Which means all digital signal transmission. No Signal loss during Digital-to-Analog Conversion and Vise Versa)

The Sony S Series and the Samsung differs a bit in Color Tint (Sony - Red, Samsung - may pagka-Orange)
The Sony S Series has also a blacker black. Sa Samsung medyo bluish ang black.

The V Series was stunning. (The 159k)
Colors are more vibrant. And there is a depth on the image.

You really have to look and figure out the difference to notice this.

Sa biglang tingin mapapansin mo agad ang Black Level ng Samsung compared to the Sony's.
