Leme give my honest 2 cents bros:

When your LCD is at your house, and you have no other LCD TV's to compare it with, You definitely wont complain and will be very happy with what you have. (wala ka na kasi mapag-compare)

I also went around and also got stunned by the PQ of the more expensive models, but in the end I got the branded one with the most practical price (since its my secondary system). When it was installed at home, I couldnt complain (wala nga mapag compare) and all my guests were already stunned by the PQ (DVD demos on a non progressive scan DVD player & not PC HD demos).

Cheers  :)

My take on it is that the sony S series seems brighter but the colors are all red which makes people look sun burned and a sometimes the color looks a bit washed out as well.

The Samsung LAr71 are ok with the colors and brightness

The Sony V series looks the best but its double the price.

For me the best PQ is the sony's but I'm not willing to pay the price difference between the samsung and the sony.  My personal take on this is that the samsung and sony panels are not very different since everybody knows that sony is currently using samsung to produce it's LCD panels the advantage of the sony is probably coming from their proprietary wega engine ???

So kung kuha ako ng LCD and the budget was to be considered samsung but with all the money to burn for getting an LCD sony.......

mukhang malapit lapit na Nest ah, :) kuha na!  ;D
ideally, oks bumili during the start of the month, kung may price adjustment. laging end of month sila nagpapa-approve ng bagong price.  :) so applied pagpasok ng buwan.
parang mas gusto ko porma ng M series, kaya lang malaki ang price diff. so, tama lang ang mga R series. :)

Kung kuha ako ng LCD definitely considering the samsung....nasa choice ko din yung hitachi pero since I'm going to use it for my main set-up (as opposed to matz using it for his secondary set-up) I think it's worth the difference especially with the discount I can get for cash purchases Asiastreak ;)

Is it available locally? Or any DVD player equivalent?

Thanks.

ganicru,

The Neuneo brand is locally available.  You can get it from Watts Hi-Fi located at the basement of Makati Cinema Square (Tel No 811-1883) or from Audible Illusions at 50D Timog Ave, QC (Tel No 374-3620).  I think there's already a separate topic discussing this DVD player.  Check it out so you can decide better ;)

This question may deserve its own thread but the LCD comparisons here might excuse this OT query:

The 32 inch Bravia V series compared to the Philips Pixelplus 2 are similarly priced at P159K.  Can anyone comment on which model offers more stunning PQ?

Thanks.

Bought a 32R71B yesterday and it'll be delivered today. Parang blessing na diniligan nun maid namin yun Sony 32"widescreen Japan Surplus (story on the other thread), nagkaroon tuloy ako ng excuse for a replacement and nagkavalue pa yun nasirang TV set.  ;D

Maybe this can work to others who want to upgrade  ::)

Thank you all for the info, decisions are made easier with you guys around. Thanks Pinoydvd  8)

Sir MatZTER,

Model no is HT-TP33T (or HT-P33).  You need to add 5K to avail it if you are buying the LCD TV. Actually, I got it free when I bought my LCD TV.  I depends on how you haggle with the salesperson. The price is P29,000 if you will buy the HTIB separately.

Thanks for the info. I got na the Toshiba HDMI player posted on buy/sell thread. I took the Ultralink HDMI M2 cable ni watt hifi for home audition. Yung generic HDMI cable did much improvement from the Monster Component connection  na , will get the branded HDMI if mas OK.

Any suggestion on picture settings (Custom?) Or, are there guides available? Specially on Black detail..

gameboy,

my apologies for the late reply, i was out of town, ngayon lang ako nakabalik sa manila.

anyway, the model that i bought was the LA32R51B.  I got it for P115,000 last February during the BPI installment madness in Glorietta.  But the shop that supplied the unit is Abenson.  Ok yung offer nung salesman ng abenson, the terms was extended to 18 months 0% installment (instead of 12 months) and gave the HT-TP33 Home theater in a box for FREE! (instead of adding P5,000 to avail it).

whats good with samsung is its after sales service. 24-hours and service nila basta available yung customer.  I told them to set up my unit at 10pm and they went to my house the same day and set up the unit at 10pm.

they are also offer a replacement unit of the same model if your unit will experience problems and has to be pulled out. ang daling tumawag sa service center, walang ka arte arte.

May office mate ako na nakabili ng LA32R71, P99,000 na lang daw sa abenson pero ayaw na daw ibigay ng libre yung home theater. Pamura na ng pamura and ang mga LCD, pati ang Sony nagbaba na daw ng presyo.  So far, i'm happy with my samsung and I am highly recommending this brand.  My only (negative?) comment is the remote control's design, mukang plastic na plastic.  Pero minor lang naman to, mas importante yung picture quality at yung after sales service.

I think you can only activate PIP, if your main picture is TV( or any analog input) and you have a connected device via HDMI or PC input.

POOR! I already bought a component cable for PS2 and used a P-scan capabale game and the graphics is very bad! Jaggies galore sya. Oh well, just have to wait for PS3 or pag di nakatiis, 360 na lang.

My LA32R71B was delivered earlier today. I'm pretty satisfied with its Picture Quality even with a non progressive Pioneer DVD player hooked up via component. After tweaking and some research, I've discovered that setting the Energy Saving feature to High improves black levels.

Still waiting for Pioneer to release its latest HDMI player, the DV-696.
