Kango Express
« on: Mar 02, 2021 at 05:46 PM »
https://kangoexpress.com/

Kango Express has been discussed in different subforums, but I think they deserve a thread of their own.  Pardon me if there's already an existing thread.

I just tried them recently for a 5G mobile phone purchase.  Item has been received in their warehouse, they've sent me the invoice, I've sent payment via Paypal (using their first time 20% off coupon), and now status is SENT, but still no ETA specified on my account page.

Biggest plus of Kango Express (IMHO) is their US Warehouse in Newark, Delaware -- does not charge online sales taxes.  They also seem to have reasonable shipping rates...

I invite everyone who has used Kango Express services in the past, to share their experiences (good or bad).

My wife is a member, so far so good. I have brought in a lot of stuff already for personal use from amazon. I dont chevk the delivery time anymore fron usa to here because we just consolidate as much as we can to try to save on shipping.

Happy and good experience so far.

They take a bit longer than shippingcart but comes out cheaper; they never did get their ETAs right though. While SC ETAs aren't good either, they do have more updates e.g. its in customs, unlike Kango which I've learned to just receive as a pleasant surprise.

Oo nga, kulang sa updates ang Kango.  I was expecting email updates.  I just checked my account now, for my package received Feb24,  naka ETA na siya nang Mar10.  Sana on-time.  So far, so good.

Package ko na-delay nang 2 weeks. Na offload daw sa Taiwan. Original eta was March 10. Updated eta March 22. Medyo nakaka off itong first experience ko with Kango.

Finally, dumating na package ko as per updated schedule of March 22.  Apart from the shipping delays, they're legit.

I'm shipping a 2nd package through them  (a new Yamaha AVR). :o :o :o  :'( :'( :'(  Oh well, lesson learned.  Maganda ang online cost calculator nila, make sure to use it before shipping to them!

Yeah, entry level HDMI 2.1 AVR, the TSR-700 (Costco version of the RX-V6A).  It'll replace my 10 year old Onkyo HT-RC260.  Sana this lasts me another decade din...

I would've opted for sea, had I known.  My bad.  Being tax free did offset some of that added cost.

Sale price ba kuha mo?

Yes, nagka stock na ulit.

https://www.costco.com/yamaha-tsr-700-7.1-channel-network-av-receiver.product.100686465.html

Hindi sale sir, $399 yung standard member-only price nang TSR 700. Di ko ma tyempuhan yung $339 sale price. At least much better than $699 na RX-V6A, which is just a rebadged unit.

Sorry, OT.

Shipped out March 11
ETA #1 March 22
ETA #2 March 25
ETA #3 March 31

Tsk tsk.

Balik SC na ako sa susunod. Medyo nag normalize na yung lead times nila lately.

Sorry to hear about your experience.
I've always thought of SC as first rate with shipping times about 2 weeks average for me (a few instances with a week or less), and Kango usually 3 weeks, so I suppose I'm more tolerable considering shipping cost is almost half, more accurate weight/dimensions measurements, no need for insurance, and of course, no tax which most of the time covers the cost of shipping. So unless I'm shipping something very heavy and cheap by sea, I'll stick with Kango for air.

Insured ba talaga yung mga packages na lost in transit galing Kango to PHL? Nawala ata yung shipment ko. According sa FAQ nila parang wala.

Nag follow-up ako respectfully tatlong beses lang after each instance ng ETA delays nila. Nothing more.

Last na talaga to.

Sharing my last experience.
Seller shipped item March 6 via USPS to Kango, was received March 23 (held in USPS center for 2 weeks) due to USPS issues.
Shipped by Kango March 25 with estimated date of April 5.
April 7, changed to April 12 ETA.
Delivered today April 14.
Total weight ~50lbs shipping was about $230+. US sales tax $0.
3 weeks more or less from shipping date.

A good turnout for me, but please take into account other experiences wherein the shipments didn't arrive.

anyone had experience shipping flagship celphone via kango? Did it passed thru customs without tax? I did last time using JAC. I just want to avail of the 0% sales tax in US.

Actually I've used their service 5x already. All under $200. I guess you need to declare the same?

Not cellphone, but AVR worth $399. Above the 10k PH import limit. Di naman ako siningil nang PH taxes.

There's no forwarder who guarantees no PH customs tax, and all of them say it's subject to tax and duties, but so far, I've never been taxed in Kango, Shippingcart, pobox. I don't think you would be, since we are exploiting balikbayan benefits, but just in case, you should be prepared to.

Yup, if there's a local distro, always better to get from them. I usually only buy 2nd hand stuff, not locally available, or a very good deal during holidays.
