if i may, some i PERSONALLY consider as such...
1. x tube will always sound better than y tube. (can't be treated in isolation from the circuit that uses them)
2. negative feedback is absolutely bad therefore not to be desired
3. triode is better than pentode or vice versa
4. SE better than PP or vice versa
5. NOS tubes can beat new production anytime
6. inexpensive gear inferior to "hi-ends" in terms of sonic qualities (same with choice of exotic vs standard parts)
7. XYZ circuit (say DC) will always beat ABC circuit (say RC).
now, maybe these are my own biases
. honest truth is, i sometimes distrust my own senses (often easily clouded by biases) and will only do so trust my ears esp during my own blind tests.
btw, there are some many writeups that support and contradict my list above. after saying this, am sure you will not be as enlightened as before reading my post.
