I also saw this (OXXO LCD) in Listening Room in Megamall but the display showed some VCD Karaoke which really cannot maximize the LCD's potential.  With that on demo, it wasn't appealing..... :-\

Re: Plasma HDTV or EDTV
Odontek...HiDef na dapat! Kung kakayanin mo lang din naman, go for broke ika nga! Having an EDTV would be best kung puro SD broadcast kasi medyo exagerrated ang deficiencies ng SD broadcast sa HD na set. But if its gonna be for mostly DVDs, HD would shine. Match this with an upconverting DVD player and u'll be watching in HD glory...or at least near it. Another thing is, u'd be set for a couple more  years. Granted no HD programming comes ur way in a few years but having an Xbox 360 sure gives u glorious 1080i gaming! HIndi ka na huli ika nga.
Don't know if I told u this yet, but my Panny upstairs is making me see that my pj donwstairs needs upgrading.

Sabi dito, PS3 can play Blu-Ray in Full resolution even without the HDMI. (The $500 PS3 doesn't have HDMI out).  ::)

Hi guys, thanks for all the help. Isa pang inquiry sana, I have decided to get an HD TV na delay lang ang purchase but I'm getting it this Sat but the thing is I cannot decide which one to get between the Pioneer PD 436HDG or the Hitachi PD428800TA. I have till saturday to decide so your commentaries regarding this two sets will be very welcome.

Does having 2 HDMI input help to make my investment future proof? Sorry for the ignorance but kahit anong basa ko ng reviews hindi ko maintindihan :'(. As always I just rely on you guys to help me make a better judgement.

I just bought an xbox 360 and HD daw ito but as i remember component lang ang connection nito. Saan ba ginagamit tong HDMI, paumanhin po ulit.

Salamat.

The 360 would just have component but this would pass HD to ur plasma quite well. Wala pa yatang available na HDMI connect para sa 360.

The HDMI on ur plasma should be used for ur DVD player (make sure ur have it). I don't know what kind of player u have but for now, I would think the best would be an upconverting one outputting thru HDMI. Patok yan sir! Yung Panny namin gamit ko yung Norcent ko. Though component lang ang connect, di ko na makita ang diperensya sa HBO broadcast which is thru HDMI ng HDDVR ko.

At nga pala, Pioneer tayo tol!

for us

pioneer PDP 436HDG marami na kaming nakabit nito although marami na rin panasonic. dahil parehas kaming meron nito.kahit hitachi. 720p is higher than 1080i.1080i is equivalent to 540p . pioneer, panasonic and hitachi have native resolution 720p. kasi kami base na lang sa actual perfomance nila. kaya mas gusto namin pioneer.

Sony KLV-V32A10 vs. Samsung LA32R71B Comparison. Need help deciding
« Reply #45 on: Jun 18, 2006 at 01:58 PM »
Hi Guys,

I'm about to buy a 32 inch LCD TV. What do you guys think is the better choice, factoring in Price and features.

For easier reference, here are the links:

http://www.sony.com.ph/wega/detail.asp?product_id=909&cat_id=3&subcat_id=29&subcat2_id=0

http://www.samsung.com/ph/products/tv/lcdtv/la32r71b.asp?page=Specifications

http://www.hitachiconsumer.com.my/32LD380TA.asp

The Sony is approximately 99K, and the Samsung is approximately 99K. Hitachi model is around 75-80K.

Thanks!

Edit: Comparison should be S series, and added the hitachi model

Hi Turismo,

Kamusta naman performance? Happy with it? A Sony salesman told me that the 5000:1 contrast ration ng samsung was measured around the center daw. not sure what that means, but the Sony S Series was rated at 1300:1 lang.

Are you very satisfied with your purchase?

I have tried it with dvd movies, xbox 360. so far the pq is ok for me. You just have to calibrate it. For this, I used DVE.

If Samsung and the Sony S Series (They are priced the same), Samsung ka na lang.
The Sony S Series has no HDMI.

base on my experience.

based on internet reviews and this thread

http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=48577.0

actually i've been look around, for me mas nice ang PQ ng hitachi, and slightly cheaper siya and theres also a newer model

http://www.hitachiconsumer.com/ph/products/proddetails.aspx?tid=81&cid=129&pid=138

but this is slightly more expensive too, its best if you check the products in question, ganda nga ng V series ng sony but not worth the 59k price difference!!!! (between the competing 32 inch models/brands)
