They opted not to include her. Maybe because she is too unpredictable and a walking controversy -- something the PBB team do not want.

Then it's a very stupid team, IMHO.  8)

I think any other Big Brother franchise in the world would KILL to have an "unpredictable, walking controversy" on their show. Like the girl on last year's BB-UK who got very drunk and horny, so she decided to... ummm... "get creative" with the empty champagne bottle in the garden during a late night live feed.

ano ba yan, kala ko ba maraming kilalang celebs na nag audition?talo sana ang mga showbiz talk shows sa mga juicy items na malalaman natin kung mga "sikat talaga" ang napili.

Exactly!! These guys are so afraid of courting controversy -- the one element that actually makes the BB concept exciting and worth watching. Hopefully, Keanna Reeves and Rustom Padilla will deliver.

Oh my God!

I thought ANY replacement for Willie Revillame would be so much better, since there would be no way to go but up.

I was so wrong!

**********

Other "first half hour" thoughts:

1. Who wasn't expecting a prayer and a moment of silence at the start of the show?

2. Toni's shift from somber to ecstatic right after the moment of silence was too abrupt - nagmukhang plastic tuloy. She should've waited until after the comercial break.

3. Only in the Philippines is the opening of Big Brother a variety show. The last opening was more appropriate - housemate introductions immediately.

4. Sam was so off-key during the opening number I could imagine Simon and Randy laughing him off the stage during an American Idol audition... with Paula drooling, of course.

**********

Poll Question for Everyone:

In your opinion, how many of the Pinoy Big Brother 1 Housemates' careers completely ended tonight?  ;D

They are in the house.

It's completely empty. All the old furniture is gone. The replacement furniture is stacked up in the garden. So I'm guessing you can figure their first task.

Here's the thing: They've gone the extra mile and changed it from "The Big Brother House" to literally "The Pinoy Big Brother House." That's right - it's ALL native/wooden/wicker furniture, with native tumba-tumbas, butakas, shellcraft curtains, native paintings, clay pot for water in the kitchen, banigs, etc...

And I don't see any mattresses/cushions on any of the furniture/beds.  ;D

Rustom really looks ill. His forearms are so emaciated you can teach anatomy of blood vessels on them. Seriously, I thought it was a big joke when he was announced as a housemate, but his appearance scares me. :-\

Signing off for the night...  ::)

I guess we'll see how the show shapes up in the coming episodes. I like the "ratatataatat" guy a.k.a M16 (a sure bet in BIG 4) and the lovely ladies: Gretchen and Bianca. But I wish Osang and Chin Chin was there. Oh well, we just have to take it for who the "hell" they are. lol

I think it would be OK and not as bad as we think but obviously not as great as we wish it would be. Some housemate slots screams unworthiness and uber ho-hums. But we'll see, I'm sure there is something interesting there to excavate.

My thoughts exactly. I would assume that ABS would have been cautious and prudent enough to ensure that his medical condition is fit enough to withstand the rigors of the game, but then again, ABS has not been making all the smart decisions lately.

I wonder whether his physical condition will become an issue during the game, whether among the contestants, or in the public discussion. I am also interested in the repercussions assuming it is true what Ricky Lo reported a few days back (and noted by Mr. Hankey a few posts back).

I think M16 has the best chance to capture the Franzen constituency, but at the same time, he is the most likely loose cannon, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is ejected by the producers and not the voters.

Just got my 24/7 connected.

Is Rustom sick? He claims that he's that thin because his new hobby. Runners do look thin but they also don't look unhealthy, which he obviously is.

I like Mich, rocker girl that she is. Budoy is a horny toad. When Mich asked him to smell her hair, he tried to hump her.

Did you notice that last night, when Budoy was doing his reggae-rap whatchamacallit, he put his arms around Toni's waist and Toni was saying out loud something to the effect that 'Budoy simisikip ang hawak mo'.  Clearly, Toni was uncomfortable with Budoy.  Tsk....tsk...tsk....  :-X

Yup - complete blood workups and even a full body examination. Some were recounting last night how embarrassed they were when asked to strip. John Prats found the "Bend over and spread your cheeks" part particularly horrifying daw.  ;D

Ricky Lo's column definitely clouded my judgment on Rustom's appearance. Without the column, the first question on my mind probably would've been, "Is he on drugs?" Because of the column, however, it became, "Is he immunocompromised?"

How old is Mang Rudy, anyway? I thought this Celebrity Edition had a 45 year old age limit. What I found funny was that since they don't have a stove, they need to chop wood to cook... and it wasn't the young, pumped up male models who did the chopping - it was Mang Rudy!  ;D

^^Yup, me too. At first I didn't recognize her name, but then realized she's the sweetie who co-hosted Magandang Umaga Pilipinas. Didn't know that she's the younger sister of former Studio 23 host JC Gonzales.

Now at least I have someone to root for--hope she lasts...

Watching the 24/7 feed is so surreal. I live so near the house that when a plane passes by my place, I can also hear it on the TV -- and when they comment that "mukhang uulan" I look out the window and it is indeed getting cloudy. I feel like I'm in an interactive TV show or something... weird.

Keana and Mitch are starting to grow on me. I admire their carefree mindset.

It was a good first episode  pero bitin -- it's understandable though because the only scenes utilized we're from sunday's midnight launch. It should be an interesting first week ahead. Surprisingly, Aleck is on a placid mode and Tatay Rudy is becoming more blabby in a scouty kind a way.

And of course, the two dames at the house, Bianca and Gretchen are sights to behold.  :)

-----

Am I the only one waiting for disputes and engagements to happen? They are still pretty diplomatic inside the house.
