Oro always turns out in festivals with missing and wrong footages.

I believe O'Hara's TATLONG TAONG WALANG DIYOS has some lost scenes also.

the only scene missing in Tatlong Taon was the sinungaling! sinungaling! scene. as it turned out FAMAS asked NV Productions to send them a clip they could show while announcing the nominees so Pearl Valdez cut the scene out from the master negative and sent it to them.... hopefully that secen is sitting somewhere at the FAMAS office.

They cut it straight from the master negative? How would they able to restore it? O'hara attended the TATLONG TAON screening recently at the CCP.

Too bad I missed it.

yup! O'Hara was there and Bembol Roco as well... i think they screened the restored 35mm copy which is exactly the same copy they show on cinema one. i have no idea how they can put the scene back but the story about that missing scene came from Ate Guy herself.

I thought there is no existing copy anymore, Jo. That's good news. I'll email Ed Cabagnot to check it out.

Among the Regal babies during their heyday, Snooky has got to be the loveliest face, Dina the sensual type and Maricel, flawless.

Saw Maricel in Virra Mall during the 80's.  ;)

Bernal has an edge over Brocka when it comes to film debut. Brocka tackled the conventional komiks formula while Bernal did more original and compelling.

Maricel, or Marya, was our neighbor in Makati when we were kids in the 70s. She and her family, her dad Boy Soriano and her sister, Vicki, lived in an apartment right across the street from our house. We used to go out with our families to harrison plaza and some fairs. I doubt if she still remembers me though, it's been almost 30 years

I called them today, but some of the films I'm looking they doesn't have also and they just refer me to Abs-Cbn.  ;D

Maybe they haven't update their catalogue. You can watch the films inside of their screening room for 50 bucks. CCP reminds me of Manila Film Center, the hallway creeps me everytime I go there.

GONE, GONE, GONE. Lino Brocka's LUNES MARTES MIYERKULES HUWEBES BIYERNES SABADO LINGGO. A chunk was found at the archive of LVN rotting already, hence only LINGGO survived  ;D. Vicky Belarmino, film archivist of CCP attest to this.

That's awful! Can't we just donate our archives to wealthy countries that can keep (and probably restore) them for us? They can use any revenues from distributing copies of the film to pay for storage/restoration. Also, what's the possibility that some of these films might be available outside the country?

Let's hope that the print was transferred already to umatic tapes if not, those reels are already stinking due to vinegar syndrome. Most of Sine Pilipino Prods. like ZOOM ZOOM SUPERMAN, my source said the person here in Manila has it!

Shown on free TV last night, which I had the priviledge to see, was Paano na ang kahapon kung wala na ang Ngayon, one of the unrecognized masterpieces of Philipine Cinema. I didn't get to catch the director but I must say that the acting all around--Christina Gonzales in particular--was superb! And the dialogue, oh the the dialogue! The most smart, profound and wittiest ever to grace the big screen! Riveting storyline too, which kept me on the edge of my seat. Why, oh why, haven't the critics taken notice of this gem? In my by book, this ranks as a classic among Pinoy melodramas. Bar none. No debate.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

I only caught snippettes of it and the dialogue are too long but still there's a trademark of a Zialcita flick.
