The dvd format is bare-bone, even the trailer is not included, paano ka naman gaganahan bumili ng Pinoy movies in dvd format? Sayang lang yung disc and case!  >:( >:( >:(

In fairness, maganda naman yung story ng Mano Po. I was able to finish watching the DVD kahit putol putol. Although I was disappointed not seeing subtitles, OK na rin. Napangitan lang ako dun sa treatment ng rescue scenes. Kung ganoon mag-rescue ang mga parak, hopeless talaga ang mga biktima.

Early DVD releases from VIVA Video like Nora Aunor's Flor Contemplacion Story and Regine Velasquez'  Dahil May Isang Ikaw have subtitles in four languages like English, Bahasa Indonesia, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. They are probably hoping to market it to the Asian territory which is not a bad idea.

Regal Films never bother to include any subtitles with their movies with the exception of LIVE SHOW.

I just bought both "John En Marsha" DVDs, "John En Marsha sa Probinsya" and "John en Marsha sa Amerika". One I bought on ebay, and one was a used copy I bought at the filipino store.

Got my copy of 'Manila By Night' at last...

Comments:

- Poor sound quality. (May time na mahina, then biglang lalakas..)
- Grabe ang pixels.

Rating: **1/2 (2.5/5 Stars)

Just bought 'Bulaklak Ng Maynila' DVD (The First Release).

Na-tempt akong bilhin because of the special features said on the cover like:
- Freeview
- Star on the Rise
- Direction

Pero when I watched it at home... The only links on the menu were:

- Play Movie
- Scene Selection

Kaya nadala na ako na bumili ng Viva DVDs..

I bought "Moments of Love" starring Dingdong Dantes and Iza Calzado for my sister's birthday because she said the movie was nice. I saw it for myself and I can't imagine why this movie became a mild hit. The first few moments are ok but the rest of the movie drove me nuts! Weak story, poor script, rather hollow performances all around except of course, for Ms. Gloria Romero. And poor Paolo Contis and his awful wig! His character was just pure, inexplicable evil!

Nabili ko nung nagpunta ako sa ccp nung cinemalaya run. Sa gift shop na malapit sa ticket booth, side entrance.

I recently had someone go back to CCP to buy Sa Aking Pagkagising Mula sa Kamulatan, Relasyon and Laro Sa Baga to complete my Regal Platinum titles. However, I was told that the DVDs where returned to UNICO, consignment lang noong time na yun. So, wala na ulit ngayon.

Bad trip nga eh kasi konting cash lang nadala ko nung andun pa ung mga DVDs. But, fortunate na rin kasi nabili ko ung tatlong DVDs na sa cinefilipino website lang mabibili.

I'm constantly on the look out, kaya i'll keep you posted.

i was given a phone number to UNICO by the sales people at CCP. Hindi ko pa natatawagan eh. I don't know if we can order directly from them or if they have a store at their Makati office. I'll post the number later, i left my cell phone somewhere. i'll have to get it first.
