saw the Infernal Affairs Trilogy HK Box set on koreandvds selling for $80++... the problem is they will be shipping it out of Hong Kong via airmail only... EMS not available... I've been burned a few times already by lost packages and I don't want to risk standard mail with this baby... The other problem is the customs tax should it arrive...  :P

Yeah agree! It's too precious & the last thing we want to hear after shelling out so much $$$ is to find out in horror that our Treasure is lost in transit or in the PO. Assuming, we survive the first tension, the last predicament: facing those crocs in PO dying to take a bite is yet another story.....  >:(

found a solution pchin! I can ship it to JAC HK which would probably not cost much but from HK to Manila via JAC it will be about P1,300+. Yep a bit expensive but 100% sure shipping and 100% sure no PO crocs!  ;D

from DVDAnswers.com

Title: Ninja Scroll: The Series
Starring: Dave Rasner
Released: 10th May 2005
SRP: $69.95 ($54.95 here)

Further Details
Urban Vision Entertainment have announced the May 10th release of Ninja Scroll: The Series - a thirteen episode spin-off from Yoshiaki Kawajiri’s violent period anime. The set will contain a full screen transfer, as well as Japanese and English audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Stereo 2.0. Furthermore, optional English subtitles will be provided. This set will receive a handsome DVD treatment – spreading the series over four discs and including a wealth of supplementary materials, such as storyboard to feature comparisons, trailers, interviews, gallery, behind the scenes, textless opening and closing credits, audio commentaries, trivia game, clan profiles, top 10 battles, DVD ROM features and much more. As if all those were not enough, the series is housed inside a gorgeous tin case and also includes an action figure. The SRP is $69.95 but can be bought for $54.95 from our good friends at DVD Asian. Read on to take a look at the official artwork, press image and detailed plot outline of the series.

Is that the Mainland China release? I was tempted to buy that but read somewhere that the dialogue is in Mandarin, meaning I won't be hearing Tony Leung and Andy Lau's real voices... the packaging looks quite good though.

this is exactly what i got from koreandvds, sir hemisphere, where did you find this photo coz its not the one posted at their site, ang galing mo talagang maghanap, hehehehe ;D ;D

i haven't watched any of the five (5) movies included in this set (one movie - one disc kasi), but my initial review on the packaging is that it's indeed one of the best DVD box sets there is, as a matter of fact it is the best on my meager collection.... ;) the box itself is made of first class sturdy material, ang tibay pwedeng pamalo, hehehe ;D, it has a 50-page booklet, the cover of the album-style digipak holding the discs is made of cloth material w/ embossed prints.....very elegant & classy talaga.....ang bigat nitong box set na ito, probably 1 kilo...... 8)

finally, am proud to own one of the DVD box sets posted here in this thread :D

your honor...reviews please after you finish watching those films......the video & audio transfer....... :D :)

your honor, i've so far finished watching The 400 Blows & Jules and Jim out of the 5 movies included in this box set :D......both DVDs have very good video transfer coz they're in anamorphic WS, both discs are DVD-9 & dual layered, as i've opined in my review about The 400 Blows in the other thread, this is a much better release than the now OOP criterion coll. since it is only in a DVD-5 single layered disc......

as to the audio, they have both the original mono audio tracks so there's not much to expect from that...... :)

both DVDs have commentaries & are loaded w/ extras, the only downside is that these extras are all in french language w/ no english subs, only a removable korean subs......but the film features of course have english subs....... ;)

Just an FYI to all,

the korean version of Kung Fu Hustle LE was pulled out by koreandvds today... no news yet why...  ???

The reason is basically the quantity of its production is limited only to 3000

Jeckjeck, was this the product design and inserts of your Kung Fu Hustle?

Unlike the Hong Kong release the quantity of its product is around 5000 to 6000 (that is why, Korean Online site even went to the extent aquiring such and sell it to its customers?

Hemisphere, since you have the Watch and Calendar ( Only comes with HK release ) with you on your Kung Fu Hustle Set? Was it numbered around 5000 to 6000 quantity?

KFH HK LE is limited to 6000 units, based on the enclosed certificate . :)
