Is this possible? has anyone seen any info if this can be done? What kind of software to use and what kind of hardware configuration you should have?
what I know is that the Drives should be in separate channels so as not to create a bottleneck.
I was thinking, of building If a DVD/CD ripping machine.
what if 4 Sata DVD Roms connected separately on all 4 sata channels, then 1 PATA harddisk just for the OS and ripping software. Then connect the PC via Twist Lan cable to your Main PC. Would this work?

I just did some research the only sata DVDrom drives available only work on intel native sata chipsets.
