Alvin,

Thank you for hosting us last Saturday.

Now I fully understand what you said about there having to be a match amongst the equipment, the room (as treated), and how it is all set-up. When they all come together like in your theater, the results are just  simply awesome.

Maraming salamat din kayla Messrs. Mark, Jess and Blackie for bringing me along.

So ... you now have 6 subwoofers?  Or have you retired your 4 other subs?

Have retired the 4 subs and placed the 2 Servos optimally in the room, even without ARC the main room mode of 28 hertz is just 5dB above reference. Now I can hear frequencies below 22 hertz!

That's what I thought. Pretty incredible that the main room mode is only 5db high. I guess that with ARC, the sub FR must be completely flat. By the way, shouldn't the Servos go down to 20 hz?

How is the Oppo BDP-83? Can it send SACD and DVD-Audio to your preamp in digital mode, so that it can be processed by ARC (or Audyssey in my case)?

Yes they can go down to 19hz according to the specs. I am getting reasonable flat output up to 20 hertz, the lower limit of the graph provided by ARC. According to Anthem ARC can measure up to 5 hz!

Yes the Oppo can send both bitstream and LPCM for ARC to process. Even analog signals from my Esoteric SACD player are processed by the analop DSP of my unit. Of course you can choose not to engage ARC per input but I don't see that anybody would do that except for comparisson purposes. The BDP83 can output DSD but I believe my pre/pre cannot decode such bitstream therefore PCM is my only choice.

I will try that later, but for the mean time I am playing Blu-ray ISO's with the C200. There is a bit of stuttering going on even if just using the internal HDisk. The picture quality is very good but I am puzzled with the audio. Specs says that trueHD and DTS MA are passed through but I am getting PCM audio whether I set it raw or PCM.

Thanks for the info. I'm also planning to get a BDP-83 ... and a 4th subwoofer.  ;D

Show us some pics please.  :)
