Thanks s2kov, nakatuwaan ko lang na lagyan ng second arm. Wala pa kasi akong nakita na gumawa nito dito. Puro 301 at 401 models.

I have another addition to my audio collection. It's a Vintage Realistic Nova ? Speaker from Radio Shack. It's custom manufactured in Japan and i picked it up from a surplus shop in Cubao.

I'm enjoying the sound so much that i've decided to use the Maggies as Sound Absorber at the moment.

I still have to find some good stands for them to isolate them from the floor: More pictures i've taken this morning:

What a great setup both maggies and vintage radioshack speakers! Its reminiscent of what I did last year wherein I resurrected an old classic THE DOUBLE ADVENT speakers! Its one heavy beast compared to my EPOS-14's, MS Classic 20's - walnut (both by Robin Marshall) and JPW Sonata's which I interchange from time to time. I had solid wooden open stands made specifically for them. I fitted heavy duty rubber stoppers to them ( 8 @ - 4 at the bottom and 4 on top ). I couldn't believe the quality of the sound coming from these 1972 classics made by Henry Kloss.

It has a very open sound, slightly forward, decent details and deep musical bass! I eventually researched about this speaker and I wasn't surprised to find out that these babies which were a hand me down were at the TOP 100 audiophile components list by Stereophile magazine! By the looks of your speakers, I know it brings out so much music that you tend to forget to hook back your maggies...not that its better but its you and the MUSIC that matters. Congrats sir!

Thanks ESi. I'm still looking for a good pair of stands that would fit these boxes. I don't want them to be too high that the tweets and the mids would be off-level from listening position. Maybe i just got so tired of the sound i hear from the Maggies that when i heard a different sound from 'em Realistic's, i decided to let 'em Maggies take a rest.

Also, it never seizes to amaze me how old components like these babies would still sound great after several years of existence.

Sir Zetroce,

I'm sure I know what you mean by saying "still sound great after several years of existence". Let me share to you a picture I took Early March, 2005 when I was running them ADVENTS to break them in after 5 years in our basement. After playing them about 4 hours I was quite surprised to see my dog who was contented sitting on the sweet spot. My wife called my attention and took this photo. My dog could have picked a different chair or spot but by some strange thing she kept on staying there for an hour until I had to change the record. There was a long pause of music compared to when you just flip the record.
If you would look closely, the custom made wooden open stands would make the FRIED EGG tweeters be in line with my ears at listening position . It would image better without towing them in. Enjoy your vintage find. Hope I can enter the cave someday!

Pag nakikita ko yung 3 setups ni sir Zet, na appreciate ko tuloy yung napakaliit namin na condo.

1 setup lang rinig na hanggang bedroom, Dining room and even sa Kitchen kapag naghuhugas ako ng pinggan. Medyo mahina lang sa laundry area pag naglalaba ako.
