Brothers,

Saan ba makakabili nang mga DivX movies... pili lang kasi puede i-download sa internet eh. Help naman po.
I own a NextBase DVD 656 Player.

bro, try www.bearshare.com...donload the free file sharing program there...there you can search lots of divx content.

Saw some MP4 encoded discs being sold at Quiapo, it's the 8 movies to 1 encoded in a dual layer disc, problem is that there is no tester, and most of the Divx and Xivd incorporated DVD players can only play AVI encoded discs, lastly, most of the titles incorporated are mostly the one you probably have e.g. Johnny English, XxX 1 & 2, Garfield etc....BTW, theyr'e selling it as DVD9, theyr'e not aware of the data encoding,unless it's a karoake video with 500 songs, it specifically says MP4, which sadly, the Lexing DVD with a Divx label that was supposed to be a tester couldn't decode.

Best thing to do is still to download and burn your own discs, that is if you have an available DSL line and have the patience to download 4-6 hours for an 8 minute short like Batman Dead End.

BTW, with a 256 line, a 4.3 G movie of TV series in AVI or ISO encoded torrent, prepare for approximately 120 hours or 5 12 hours daily download.

Pwede rin...top download rate is 30kps, pero ang usual eh 2kps to 15 kps tops....handa ka lang sa tuloy tuloy na linya, at wala nanag makakatawag sa inyo.

OO nga pala...pag may call waiting ang telephono ninyo...handa ka rin sa corrupt files. :'(

naku Alfie bad trip pala yan sa kamukha ko na dial up lang! and to think na kahit dsl eh matagal pa din mag download.

Patyagaan lang talaga ang torrent. But sometimes, you have no choice but to use torrents for some files you want because they are available only this way (freely available that is).

just think of it this way... a properly encoded "30 minute running time divx file" should take a little over one and half hours to download on the lowest plan dsl available (386kbps) ... that is, IF there are a healthy number of seeders AND your dsl connection is running at peak form. (which it rarely does.)

OR

if you have buds who have a good collection of dvds... just borrow them and rip them into mpg4 files. (that way you have 5-6 movies on each dvd-r.

being a dial-up user for a very looooong time, i have never reached 30kbps on a dial up connection for downloads... my rule is: your download is speed should average about 10% of your "reported connection speed"... ex. if your dial-modem connects at 44-48kbps... expect downloads to average at around 4-5kbps. if you are in a bad connection say, 33.6kbps... average download speed will be at 3-4kbps. this seems t be true for dsl connections as well ... a 386kbps connection downloads at an average of about 30-40kbps.

Akala ko ako lang naka dial up.

It's very slow so patience is really necessary. However napaka unreliable ng connection ko to download big files. Sobrang kakainis yun matagal ka antay magdownload tapos corrupted pala.

I do have buddies who I can borrow them movies and have the tools (dvd-rom, dvd-writer, pretty fast pc) but don't have the knowledge on how to rip 'em.

oh well... time to learn this things then

i was able to download 22 episodes of grey's anatomy (40+ mins per episode) in two days, using cable connection of 1mbps. Good thing with Bearshare, you could interrupt the download (pc shutdown), but will continue the download after restarting.

Actually sir, I think all torrent clients are like that. And that's the beauty about torrents, you can stop downloading and continue where you left off. Just as long as there are still seeders for the file.

As of me, I already downloaded SOUTH PARK Seasons 1 to 9 plus the movie, as well as some popular Animes like Ninja Scroll, GITS, and Visionaries

The English Final Fantasy Advent Children is available now at some popular torrent sites, including the bonus disc.

i'm confused... are bearshare and limewire considered torrent clients? parang they don't use trackers kasi. considered peer to peer lang ata sila.

uhm, i made the switch to dsl six months ago

... after more than 7 years of dial-up. prices between dial-up and dsl 6 months ago was not that much different. (unlimited dial-up is almost free when you sign up for a new line these days.)

don't worry... torrents and p2p are not unfriendly to dial-up users... thanks to resumable downloads.

if you want to create your own divx backups, try going to doom9... they have an abundant number of resources (free programs) and an extensive knowledge base (lots and lots of easy-to-follow guides) for almost any situation. hope that helps.

yep. you got it right. aureus, bitlord and bittorrent are the popular ones. best you try them and see which interface you like best.

the good news is episode 24 & 25 are on their way... with 8 days remaining. yikes - kainis talaga dial up.
