yeah, and to quote wade, the heat wouldn't be in the finals without him  :)

and giving him the ball in crunchtime is not good idea...they'll just foul him rightaway  but with his size he can create some space for Wade ;)

agree ako kina jojit, RN, at edboy - Shaq creates lots of space for his teammates just by being there.

Notice how spread out the Miami offense is. The only other team that is this spread out is San Antonio. The reason's the same - the defense is focused on the big men; Shaq in Miami and Duncan in SA. So both Riles and Pop spread the floor to make the defense pay. Parker and Manu benefit from that in SA, Wade in Miami.

Even when the defense doubles Wade, which is not often, the other three defenders still can't rotate well because they're worrying about the Diesel.

Shaq's also an underrated defender. A lot of times the Mavs have to settle for jumpers when they would have gone inside, like they did earlier in the playoffs, dahil nga nan doon sa loob si Shaq.

Medyo mabagal na siya, at mas bulok pa siya sa foul line ngayon, but he's still dominant.

I think the Heat are playing the game they want to play. The Mavs have to make a lot of adjustments.

I hope Wade's defenders improve their lateral footwork. Dinadaanan lang sila ni Wade e.

I tried doing that in NBA Live 06 sa X-box. They give the other team a technical free throw... tapos turnover coz the other team gets the ball afterwards?!? Could have been a computer glitch since I don't know what the actual rules are... Hehe.

remember the phoenix versus boston in the 70s yung 3 overtime game,
quoting wikipedia
Quote
Game 5 was a triple-overtime classic that is considered by many to be the greatest game in NBA history. With the series tied 2-2, Boston took a huge lead at Boston Garden but could not hold it. The game was marred by several controversies but eventually went to Boston in three overtimes, 128-126.

In Game 5, Paul Westphal of the Suns made a critical play: With one second to go and the Suns down 111 to 110 but in possession of the ball and trapped by the Celtics' defense, Westphal called for a time-out. He knew the Suns had no time-outs left, so a technical foul was called on him. The Celtics made a free throw, taking a two point lead, but the Suns had a chance at inbounding the ball without being trapped, and then, Garfield Heard made a shot (a turn-around jumper at the top of the key) for the Suns that sent the game into triple overtime

ok lang, pass ako sa current WADE figure, di kasi kamuka eh, I'll wait for the series 2 Wade sana mala Spidey yung pose nya ;D

got mine today...

agree on shaq about a still being a force (although not dominant anymore) he can still put up 10/10/2 without breaking a sweat, he can shift teardrop shots and can clog inside the key..with his 55 inch shoes he..he

What do you guys think of the controversial timeout called (or not called) by Howard? Ginawa did daw niya ito sa college? Howard says he was talking to his coach, not to the ref.

But if I were in the shoes of the ref, it would be very simple to confirm with Avery, "Are you calling a timeout now or not?"

For me, the time out is no big deal. With 1.9 sec, aasa na lang sila sa milagro. Had they put more pressure on Wade in the last seconds, nanalo sana sila.

great head-up kimpoy..thats a strategy  coach Avery missed.  1.9 seconds can be a dribble and shot opportunity, if inbounded at halfcourt.  If they did that, and Heat converted on the Technical, they'll be down only two points.

With the dearth of good centers in the league today, Shaq still stands out (though Yao Ming's coming around lately, with 22-10 average).  I also missed the time when there were great centers in the early and mid 90's when  Ewing, Olajuwon, Robinson, Mourning and Shaq ruled the paint, and their games head to head were much a must-see tv.  Right now, I can only name Shaq as the lone true vintage center.  Two if you include Yao Ming who takes jumpers and fadeaways. Maybe its an evolution of the NBA game...I hope to see the return of the great big centers, who can pivot and score, defend and block shots.  Not centers who miss gimme's and fumbles the ball.

As you said yourself, munskie, the game has changed to favor quick perimeter players, hence the rise of Wade, LBJ, Arenas, and their kin. You can still bump and fight while defending the post, but even the slightest brush against a perimeter player is a foul. Dwade is making the most of that; he shot a record number of free throws in Game 5.

I guess big men are evolving toward becoming hybrids who can play all over the court. Look at Dirk and KG. Even Duncan is roaming around now. Then we have mutants like LeBron who are built like PFs and dribble and pass like PGs. Bring on the X-Men hehe!

Exactly right slowhand....today's game is another era.  Cguro kapag si MJ of prime naglaro ngayon would easily average 50 today.  Hybrids nga mga center ngayon..most are  taller power forwards who are tasked to do all.  Si Tim Duncan old school...but as you said, is adjusting too.  Si Dirk...7 footer who drives and shoots anywhere. Same with KG..mga X-Men nga!! ;D ;D

Both of my chosen teams... advanced!

Now comes the hard part, choosing the champion...

Heat in 6!

Everyone is wondering who can guard Shaq... the real question is: who can stop Wade?

For Dallas to win... they should make it hard for Wade to penetrate at will.

Looks silly quoting my own post, but what the heck... this post proved to be prophetic.  ;D

Now, this championship validates a lot of things....Mourning and Payton won their first.  Shaq won his first without Kobe.  And Wade his first ring.  And Riley, his first since 1988.  For the Mavs, their core is young.  They'll contend again.  ;D ;D

OMG Yahooooooooooooo!

I'm the only Heat fan here in the office --- all the men were for Dallas. Muahahahaha!

Sigaw ako ng sigaw when Wade missed both free throws. Buti na lang wala yung tira ni Terry!

Yehey! So happy for Jason Williams! (and sige na nga, si Walker din  ;D )

I wouldn't be surprise if Shaq retires.  Kaya lang wawa si Wade if that happens.
