this is a good behavioral insight ranran. never thought of it before but it does exist. good work!

------

mine:

- read the artwork/jacket first/synopsis
- watch the trailer (not the other special features)
-  check audio track available and subs
- others..

I get make the room as comfortable as possible (putting pillows, aircon, food).

Same here... good think we've a mini refrigerator beside our bed ;D

Other essential set up includes: audio & sub-title setting. DTS is preferred if available. Then crank up the volume! ;)

same with many members, i usually watch the trailers first  :D

i dont like watching the special feats first esp if its how the effects were done, stunts, etc... it destroys the mood while watching the movie.  i know that, she had a wire on her back...  ;D

If I have seen the movie already in theaters, I usually watch all of the Special Features first before taking my time to watch the movie itself. If I have not seen the movie, I start with watching the trailer.

Turn on aircon
bring down PJ screen
turn on PJ
turn on receiver, amplifier and DVD player
adjust lighting
arrange my custom sofa to lazy or slouch mode
get some snacks ready
Like others said, check for DTS track. I learned my lesson, I once watched Assault on Precint 13 and only found out it had DTS track after I ejected it with the lights on.

I plan to integrate bringing down the PJ screen and adjusting the lighting into one step soon, by getting a remote control motorized PJ screen and intelligent lighting switch. So with a button, the screen goes down and the lighting adjusts itself to your preferred lighting mode.  ;D

I thought you meant betamax, vhs and LD era viewing habits...he he he.

Anyway, I just pop in the disc and go straight to play.  I always check the special features last and  never check the trailers dahil spoiler.  Masarap yung absolutely no idea what to expect of the movie, in my opinion.

I always disable subtitles because it disturbs my concentration (my eyes).  Pero kung katabi ang the wife, I have to turn it on para walang magtatanong maya't maya ng "ano raw?"

I turn on room lights first...then PJ...turn on HTPC....turn on receiver...turn on ambilight....pop in dvd...turn off room lights.  I always make sure to turn on first those equipment which needs time to power up like the PC and PJ.  ;D
