Congrats, bosing!  Nice gears, very clean and clutter-free, with great wire management.

Natuloy din ang Yammy 657 mo.  I'm sure magugustuhan mo ang performance niyan sa HT.

Maganda rin ang performance ng 657 sa music CDs, especially on "pure direct" mode.  Try some of my favorite demo songs on CD: Standing Right Next to Me (Karla Bonoff); How Do I Live (Trisha Yearwood); and The Gift (Jim Brickman).

===========================================

Suggestion ko lang, why not try moving the front speakers forward.

Avoid setup "C".  Hindi maganda ang stereo imaging ng fronts dahil may humaharang sa gitna. Personally, I prefer setup "A".

nice setup sir!
you can still improve the sound of your set-up sir, experiment lang
and proper speaker placement ang kailangan.

congratulation.. ;)

Thanks.

Na-addict ako sa HT dahil sa inyong lahat! ;D

Sir Barrister thanks sa nice reviews mo sakin ng Wharfes and the 657 but I can't put the fronts forward the most I can do is Setup B (kids, kids, kids). I have been listening to LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY greatest hits DVD since memorable samin to ng wifey :D. Maganda naman ang 8 centre sa male vocals, I was just wondering why there were some members who commented ngongo daw ang model na to ??? In fact, I prefer its sound better than my previous 9cs but the real reason why I preferred the 8 series (other than liking its sound at its price) is the looks! I can't get over the yellow(wife's favorite color) cones (parang owl's eyes) and champagne front panel na bagay sa silver Video gears!  Sir Barrister, panalo talaga video upconversion ng 657, works like a charm.

I  was really considering Sir Vhongbiker's 9.5 and 9cs because I think it's a sweet deal but I really have to get the yellow cones!

I watched the New World (trial version ;)) last night and the cannon shots show some of the LFE have arrived kasi out of the box wala pa. I have to admit bad placement ang left fronts ko kasi nasa corner and the result is BOOM.

Thanks to all who appreciate my modest setup.

BTW before I forget, Sir Barrister I totally freaked out when I tried the pure direct, the front panel display of the 657 faded out and all that was left was a beautiful BLUE button shining! ASTIG!

OA ko, out.

Nice setup sir.
Mas appealing talaga ang Diamond 8 kaysa sa 9 IMHO.
Congrats.

Thanks mas appealing din sakin ;) but planning to have 9.1 sa rears bagay kasi ung rosewood nakapatong sa piano(rosewood din) dto na naging headboard ko na lang (nobody is playing it).

Thanks and congrats to you guys also.

Sir Erwin, maybe you can post about your comments on the Yamaha rx-v 657 :), Si Sir Barrister happy with its performance and so am I.

Here are other people raving about it:

http://www.audioreview.com/YamahaRXV657crx.aspx

http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_12_3/yamaha-rx-v657-receiver-8-2005.html

http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/reviews/pdf_reviews/RX-V657review.pdf

http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/article.asp?print_page=y&section_id=3&article_id=863&page_number=1&preview=

One can argue that these reviewers were paid to write nice reviews, assuming they were, what I don't get is why they were talking good stuff about the same model and why didn't Yamaha made them favor their higher end models?

Salamat sa mga links na pinost niyo for the rxv657 sir. Lalo tuloy ako nainlove  sa system ko.  Im still a newbie pagdating sa receivers pero all I can say is Im very satisfied with mine as well. I had a professional install my system and he was really blown away by its performance when we first tested it, my eardrums almost exploded. It has more than enough power than my ears can take and there is still a lot of features I haven't used or experimented with yet.  For now Im just  using it more  for  movies than music. Still waiting for the ok signal from my wifey to subscribe for XM which I think will never happen.  :'( Nevertheless Im still happy  ;)
