Mine is a Sony Bravia KLV V32A10.
I bought this unit sa Anson's Pasay Road mga end of October 2006.

I only use Custom Setting since nasisilaw ako masyado pag naka-Standard or Vivid.
Reason for this is sa kwarto sya nakalagay so lahat ng external light sources are eliminated kaya kahit Custom setting lang, maliwanag na sya.

Custom setting ko:
Color: 50
Brightness: 50
Picture: 70
Backlight: 2 out of 5.

I use this for Ps3 gaming mga every other night for about 2 hours lang since I have work and have to go to sleep early.
Si misis naman watch Cable gabi gabi din.

In other words, gabi gabi sya nagagamit.
And so far, wala pa naman problem.

Suwerte ng unit na to kasi di sya nadali when a lightning struck my Smart Bro canopy considering na kasama sya sa chain of connection.
Canopy --> Wireless Router -- > PS3 --> LCD.
Nasira ung Wireless Router but it was replaced FOC.
The PS3's HDMI port was damaged too. Di na sya gumagana ngayon but still displays HD signal through Component Video.

No complain on my Bravia. Maganda pa Audio Quality.

@dvd-fanatic

reset mo yung settings sa default, tapos gamitin mo na lang vivid settings then i-on mo yung light sensor para hindi ka masilaw sa too much backlight dahil automatic na magaadjust yung brightness ng screen based sa ambiance ng room mo, for me that gives the best viewing display.

my tip for the sony bravia:

1. set to normal/standard
2. in the power saving menu, set to LOW. this lessens the backlight intensity.
3. set the backlight to fit your needs depending on lighting conditions.

hope this helps.

Power consumption at night - see the bar at lower left, it is at 1/8 of the total bar therefore 1/8 of 165 watts equals 20 watts. Wow only 20 watts usage at night :)

Power consumption at day - see the bar at lower left, it is almost at full level so maybe 140-150 watts. the light sensor automatically adjusts the brightness so that the display can compensate for the presence of ambient light in the room. Note also that there is no screen glare unlike plasmas. therefore when the light sensor is turned on and used at night a lot of electricity is saved.

Photo of my bravia accepting 1080p signal from my pioneer dv-600 upscaling player and playing movie 300 which is an avi that is playing via usb stick which i have downloaded from internet torrents. this photo and previous ones were only taken with my Nokia N95 cellphone at only 1024x768 which lessened the picture clarity and contrast. But in reality, viewing this atual movie at this set up is really remarkable and stunning!

Sir,  Medyo OT lang po, pero clarify ko lang kung dv-600 upscaled your avi file to 1080p too?  Alam ko kasi hindi pwede yun eh.  ???

nice pic sir. looks like i'm leaning now towards the klv-40v300a as it is capable of receiving 1080p signal. the price also todate is no longer miles away from samsung. i was earlier planning to get the samsung 40r81 but it cant accept 1080p signal. wanted to use the upscaling capability of my denon 2308 thru HDMI via a regular dvd i have laying around.

i just set my pioneer dv-600 to 1080p resolution (there are other choices like 720p, 1080i, 480p etc.) and that is the image that i got, wherein the tv's display showed the 1080p sign on the upper leftmost part of the screen. i do not know if it is truly full HD 1080p, or just a downscaled 1080p... what matters most is that the picture clarity is superb and the color depths are certainly stunning and vivid even the black levels... maybe that is a result of the bravia engine being boasted by sony in promoting their LCD lineups.

I have the latest sony product catalogue. I think kaya mahal yan kasi yung sinasabi nilang 0% interest ay hindi tunya na 0% interest kasi pag cash mo binili may discount daw na Php 25,000 yung 32 inch D series.

my take on this:

1. Maganda
2. Mahal

you can buy a lot more and/or better gear with the same amount of money.

agree, buy 2 Sammy 32R81B ;D

@meateater                   when you are facing your remote control, press the upperleftmost button of the remote and the power consumption together with the display property will show up, a second press will display the time on the lower right part of the tv. Before you push that button, turn on first the "show power consumption" located at the power saver settings in display configuration.

sir kamusta po reception ng bravia sa regular/analog cable (i.e. sky/home/destiny). Is it bad or does the bravia engine compensate for the inferior signal? If ok naman, is it the same reception or quality when viewing cable channels on a crt tv? thanks. I'm planning to buy a 32in V-series kasi. :)

would appreciate pictures if meron.

ok naman ang reception nya sa skycable, you can see the sample pictures that i have taken from above posts. nakakatulong din siguro ang bravia engine sa pagpapalinaw ng video. meron din kasi settings for noise reduction which has options automatic, high, medium, low and off. for me i turn it to auto, tinitimpla nya automatically ang smoothness ng video... for example pag nakalagay sa high super kinis ang video walang graininess pero medyo nababawasan ang sharpness, kaya sa automatic ang setting ko kaya ang bravia engine na siguro ang nagmamaximize the picture quality.

by the way, saan mo balak bumili ng 32" v series and how much? i have read from other threads that sight and sounds is selling that for 53k only with free home theatre and wireless headset. i have bought mine at 65k pa kaya medyo mahal pagkakapurchase ko.

wow! i didn't notice that it was a cable channel image (Cartoon Network). Akala ko video game or DVD. So I guess it's true... the bravia and noise cancellation works!

I'll get a Sony then. :) i think i can get one from sight and sounds for 44K cash and no freebies.

actually Ayala land recently ordered the S series (80 units ata) and they got them for 40K each. Dunno if direct with Sony. The S and V series have very minimal differences (exterior case, swivel stand, pero less sa power consumption yung S! dunno why)

goodluck on your purchase, you may also want to consider the D series with motion flow technology for fast jagged-free videos and 24p true cinema for blueray movies encoded with the same framerate. it comes at a hefty price though... but when the motion flow kicks in, you are watching as though the movie is actually being filmed in a videocam because of true to life framerate movements. you can sample those blueray sample videos at sony squares. there is one in trinoma right in front of theaterworks, the blueray movie is being played on their 50" X series and the video is really fantastic!

I'm using KLV32U300.  I calibrated my LCD using a DVD guide from my friend (an old AVIA guide, i think).

I just found out when navigating on my DVD player (which is Pioneer DV400),there are also settings (set at default as follows):
sharpness - standard
color - 0
gamma - off
brightness - 0
etc (forgot other settings) - also set at 0

I didn't change it anymore because already found my preferred settings during calibration. But there is another setting which I need to find out more info - full rgb vs rgb vs component.

Pls. send me your comments on my DVD player settings (or recommendation to optimize viewing). Right now i set DVD player video output as follows:
1920x1080p
full rgb

@eksi

i also set my resolution setting at 1920x1080p, then i use the full RGB setting because i find it to produce more darker blacks ang vivid colors than RGB and component. for other settings, i did not change it anymore, the brightness is the only one i changed i increased it gradually to have a bright which suits my eyes. please note that the pioneer dvd model that i have is DV-600 so i do not know if the result of my settings would be the same as yours. and my LCD tv is KLV-32V300 which is V series with bravia engine which enhances grealy the picture quality. for my tv setting you can backtrack on my posts above.

Meron po ba dapat na ibang settings or any equipment to improve quality? So far ntry ko palang gwin is to set the signal booster to auto

@deathblitzer,  baka malabo ang cable reception mo due to technical problems like loose and deteriorated wires, or maybe may cable signal hijackers sa location mo kaya nahahati signal quality. It is also better to subscribe to a digibox, oo nga 1 tv lang ang pwede ikabit pero mas maganda naman signal quality at iwas signal hijackers. Parang di ko pa napansin yung setting ng signal booster sa tv ko pero it is just fine to set it to auto. Try also to increase noise reduction setting, from auto turn it to high mode.
