Company of Women VCD

Buyer beware!

The newly released VCD of Mel Chionglo's Company of Women is a badly censored version of the movie.  Which is a shame because the transfer itself is quite good.  Colors are vibrant.  It's a much better print than the DVD of Manila by Night, which is off-center and murky in parts.  On the plus side, it seems uncut.

Yeah I agree. I bought one when I was in Manila. Quite disappointing really.

i have both the vcd and the original vhs tape of Company Of Women... i agree that the vcd release has great quality but it was the theatrical release version while the videotape copy was the complete Manila Film Center version.

Maybe they just copied the vcd release from the cable version. If you are looking for uncut Filipino films on vcd, check out Mike de Leon's BATCH '81.

All the violence & profanities are intact.
