I would say MUSIC FOR MONTSERRAT.  Grabe 'to man! as in para kang nasa gitna ng concert hall.  This was attested by my good friend Sunfire.  :)

I still get that buduy feeling when I watch Moulin Rouge(",)beautiful movie made even better when watched & listened to in DD/DTS!!  "Come What May....I Will Love You...Until My Dying Day..." ^_^ couldn't resist.  Also the pod race scene in TPM, Mr. Glass falling down the stairs (OUCH!!) in Unbreakable (Vista Series), Chris Tucker at the karaoke club in Rush Hour 2, anything in the Crouching Tiger Superbit DVD...and all the rest of everyone's suggestions.

Ronin - great overall ambient sound, and solid, accurate rendering of the audio during the car scenes.  :D

Contact - the opening sequence, with the radio broadcasts being heard in outer space had a great enveloping effect to it. it was all well orchestrated.  :)

Just added to my list: Diana Krall Live in Paris. Very natural sounding. Nice orchestra sound. And you can hear the faintest growling in her voice, the sound of the tongue hitting the roof of her mouth, the parting of her lips. Please remember I am describing her singing :)

Eversince getting a DVD player and discovered its audio potentials, I've been buyng only blockbuster movies.  In particular I Like:

SAVING PRIWATE RYAN:  the sounds of bullets whistling from the left, then the right rear channels was a novelty I failed to detect from my old pro-logic set-up before.

TOY STORY 1 & 2: Just amazing for an aniumated feature

EARL KLUGH Concert:  The audience clapping comes from the rear!!!  makes you feel to be right at the stage's edge.

GODZILA & TITAN AE:  The monster's grumble and the spoaceship engine roar ruined my rear speakers that were specified just for a pro-logic set-up. Had to buy a new more powerful full range set.  Is that good?

The Pledge, the one starring Jack Nicholson.

Not a special effects-explosions type of sound trip, but a nice, atmospheric soundtrack and subtle sound engineering, appropriate for the film.

SPR--opening scene

bro dexterc

i agree with spr, pero I think the Alamo scene rocks more than the opening scene. in fact, i saw the dts demo disk uses this scene instead of the omaha beach scene.  :)

Agree about the Alamo scene being a better demo for sound. The one big difference is the presence of TANKS! And there are the CANNONS that those tanks use!
