You mean walang lalabas na boxed set of episodes 4-6 only?
Naku! Di doble na naman ang kopya mo if you already have episodes 1 & 2!  >:(

that's why i'm really restraining myself to get ep. 1 & 2.
if ever i will acquire the STAR WARS, gusto ko kumpleto na. ;D

I have Episode 1&2 den meron pa akong boxed Laserdisc and vhs (from e-bay pa!)and pirated DVD ng first trilogy, so if George Lucas will release the complete Star Wars 1-6 big bucks na naman ito, sayang talaga yung na-invest ko.

Anyway, I'm willing to buy the whole set when it comes out.

I highly doubt it. I haven't been really good so far this year. Actually, I've been very naughty and bad so I don't expect Santa to throw in a few things para sa akin.
I would just have find other means to get my wants list...  ;D

This Trilogy deserves royal treatment on DVD - I just hope that besides the remastering and documentary features given to it by Lucas it will also be showcase in a customize packaging unlike the Indiana Jones trilogy.

They can use tin cans as packaging or hard plastic wag lang sana sa ordinary keepcase ulit.

Here's a big scoop from Aint-It-Cool-News:  The Star Wars Original Trilogy DVD set is scheduled for release September 2004!  That's less than a year away!  ;D   No word though on the specs of the SW OT and what special features will be included.  I'm sure it will include teaser materials for Episode III, which will be shown in May 2005.  BTW, the Episde III DVD will also be released November 2005.

The Force will be with us soon!  8)

And in addition to that, Star Wars Episode 1: Phantom Menace and Star Wars  Episode 2: Attack of the Clones will go on moratorium. So, last chance to grab copies now. But you can only guess that when the complete episodes are out, this will be re-released.

Read on another site that the original trilogy DVD release (Episodes 4-6) will be the 1997 Special Edition version with added features and effects. What's the 1997 Special Edition version? The laserdisc release?

Episode 1 - out, but will be on moratorium soon
Episode 2 - out, but will be on moratorium soon
Episode 3 - November 2005
Episode 4 to 6 - September 2004

from www.thedigitalbits.com:

11/6/03

Well, we've finally heard from our sources on that meeting that Lucasfilm held yesterday at the Presidio with their retail partners. Here's the skinny, and you guys are gonna love it... Star Wars: Episodes IV, V & VI are coming to DVD in September of 2004. The animated series of Clone Wars shorts appearing soon on the Cartoon Network will also be released on DVD, possibly before the end of this year. The teaser campaign for Episode III will begin in January of 2005, leading up to the May theatrical release. Finally... Episode III will hit DVD in November of 2005. Keep in mind that none of this is official until Lucasfilm publically announces it... but this is certainly, at long last, the real deal.

Stay tuned...

 :)

pre, malabo yata n naka DTS ang Star Wars Trilogy. Lahat ng release ng Lucasfilm for the Star Wars DVD hanggang Dolby Digital EX at THX lng. And I don't think George Lucas will break that format. Pero, malay natin...

Here is an exerpt froma Star Wars fan who luckily been invited to the recent Star Wars summit. Here's what he has to say:

"I just came from the Star Wars summit at the Presidio in San Francisco.  It was Star Wars-licious!

The attendees were subjected to Star Wars marketing statistics, product licensing and tie-in possibilities and PowerPoint presentations.  Yawn for most, but I'm a freak and love that sort of stuff.

Some interesting things came to light.  The marketing timeline for Star Wars is as follows - This week, The Clone Wars, then the original Star Wars trilogy is being released September 2004, then Episode 3 teaser advertising begins in January of 2005, Episode 3 May 2005, Episode 3 DVD/VHS November 2005.  One little fun fact - seems that they have TWO Star Wars television ideas floating around the ranch...one would be animation and the other - LIVE ACTION.  These television projects would be in 2006.  Let's hope they're better than the Star Wars Christmas Special, or those Ewok films.

But the REAL meat and potatoes was the Episode 3 footage!  Some cool as hell stuff.  Anakin is looking darker than ever.  Dark clothes, with what appears to be some scars on his face.  They showed one seen with Obi-Won, The Emperor and Anakin crashing their ship into a planet as the ship burns.

They showed some animation of what will be OB1's transportation at one point in the film.  A large lizard that's able to walk upside down and scale walls.

*minor spoilers*

Oh - and they showed some green screen footage of the final lightsaber fight between Obi-Won and Anakin.  It looked colossal.  The lightsaber fight to end all lightsaber fights.  Evil wins, we all know that.  The intensity with which the two were fighting was phenomenal.  Seems the final battle takes place on a lava planet, and at one point the two are hoping back and forth on hovercrafts floating over the lava.

That was all I saw, and it got me moist as a snack cake down there.  They also showed a "behind the scenes didn't we have a blast filming Episode 3" documentary

At the end they had an extremely funny theatrical production - The Star Wars Trilogy in 30 minutes.  I think it played at Comic Con too.  Patrick Gorman, the author,  has basically done a reduced Shakespeare version of Eps IV- VI.  Funny stuff, and a great way to end the presentation portion of the show.

We were then escorted by storm troopers to Jabba's Palace for a reception.  Drinks and networking with Darth Vader, Chewbacca and eventually Lucas himself.  He did a cameo and a lap, apparently he was having some editing problems...probably putting more new stuff in the "original" trilogies"

I hope this will help all those Star Wars dudes awaitng for the Star Wars Trilogy DVD release.  ;D

In my experience, my Yamaha receiver decodes DD-EX as DD only. To answer your query, try this link: http://www.dolby.com/trademark/co.in.1200.MarkSurEX.pdf

Cant find details in your link.  Does it means your reciever needs to have DD-EX and THX before it registers?  I came across some site and mentions the term THX EX for lucasfilms.

There's no problem with non-Lucasfilms. Like T2 Extreme edition and LOTR(2discs) shows DD-EX in my amp.
