Topic: japanese brand vacuum tubes

appreciate any feedback on any type of japanese vacuum tubes (manufactured matsus**ta, toshiba NEC etc) are they so-so  or are they "grossly underrated"?

as far as i know, mtsu tubes especially 12ax7 are "subcon" by mullard...thanks!

amx, i understand used to employ matsucrapa tubes in their integrated and pre amps...Im just not sure of the latest creations...i got my first tube,stock  kt88 push pull/ultralinear int amp with matsucrapa 12ax7

temporarily 'parked' the matsus**ta...trying out the mullard australia i have  ..just enjoying the music...
the necnec is still somewhere out there ...( but has good construction,it seems and nice printing)...my amx is singing well now with  NOS tubes in it...lucky guy

you can go to Pacific Electronics near DEECO, you can still buy japanese brand 12ax7, 12at7, and 12au7's there, also 6FQ7/6CG7's there, brand is toshiba, they sell tubes for 250 apiece, even power tubes....

What power tubes do they sell?  Any KT88's or 6550's ?

unfortunately none, but they have sweep tubes, 6lf6 and the likes...power tubes used on tv's, compactrons etc....
