Sir dana,

Unless you want to modify your ST70, a 6AN8 cannot be used in place of the 7199.

Among other things, they have different pinouts.

Best Regards

6GH8, 6BU8, you need a sharp cut-off pentode and medium mu-triode, 7199 is long discontinued...6gh8 is a better sub for this tube. a 12by7, 12bh7 combo will be hard to beat as a replacement...

sayang oweidah, i missed you by one hour at spin today... ;D i took 4 heatsinks today, will come back for more and the cleartops... ;D

lots of polypropylene caps there too...wish they had a website to browse their products...
That's OK, you can like or dislike anything you choose. That's the wonderful thing about the freedom

yes, spin is a diy paradise of sorts, there are many parts, polypropylene caps, etc. etc, if you know how to look.

the big machine by the door is a transmitter unit if i am not mistaken.. ;D

in the event that the 7199 becomes extinct, you can always order from Curcio their drop-in boards which uses 3-6922 tubes to replace the 2-7199.

the sound would be another story.

pero sa experience ko yun EL34 ang madalas mapudpod, meron ako restore na ST70 orig na Dynaco (labeled) pa yun 7199 tubes.
