Help Needed! (Phillips DVDRW416)
« on: Aug 03, 2006 at 11:07 PM »
Guys help naman o...

I have I Phillips DVDRW416 which I've been using for 3 years now (c/o Chrono)
I needed an external DVD Writer for a while so I used it via USB to IDE cable (R-driver)

Problem lang naiwan ko sya naka "plug" for the whole day....and next time I used it to burn
a dvd...lahat ng isalang ko "blank" na sa kanya.

It s now limited to just CD-RW (kasi nakaka burn pa din ako ng CD) pero Read and Write ng DVD
di na pwede..

Time na ba to buy a  new one?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
you've been using it for 3 years, it might have died the natural way, digital opticals have a lifespan too it doesnt live forever. Its time for a replacement.

Prices of DVD burners has dropped significantly these past few months. With a price tag of around 2k, I think it's more advisable to get a new one. Not only that it would be more compatible w/ other formats/discs, it would also be much faster than your current burner. Just my two cents.  ;)

Thanks for the replies.

The reason I posted is baka may "tweaking" lang na pwedeng gawin.
I still can burn CDs kasi...although resigned na ako to the fact that I
will be replacing it.

You're right - the cost is talagang lower than when I bough it - 5 to 6K pa ata
bili ko dito and limited DVD+R lang ito (at that time sa labas 10K pa ata ito non)

Again thanks for the replies...

Off to the stores....he he he
