Topic: Are Criterion DVDs popular sa Pinas??

Hi there!  I'm based in the U.S., so I'm wondering if Criterion Collection DVDs are popular in the Philippines .. for more info check out the Criterion Website (Click here)!

Some examples of CC titles are:
RoboCop CC (OOP)
The Silence of the Lambs CC (OOP)
The Rock CC

Many are for sale on eBay (some OOP CCs go for hundreds of US$! ) ..

Benny- Thanks for the hearty welcome (you're the 2nd, after Bossing Woodie hehe) ..

Geez.. I linked to the URL u provided and only finished reading the 1st page (i'm at work, trying to stay "focused" hehe) .. I looked on the bottom and it said 7 pages of discussion daw!  acckkkkkk!  (I'll catch up later ) .. Yes, sir .. you're absolutely right! "You bet they are!" is right!  

The reason why I ask is that I have a number of Criterion titles, most of which I haven't watched .. I probably had more than 70 at one time (yes, I'm a huge DVD collector/addict), but I've started thinning down my collection 'cause I need the funds .. I was thinking of making back most of my investment via eBay or at DVDTalk.com, a DVD Forum here in the states ..

i guess they are...personally, im drawn into criterion collections kahet di mashado kilala yun titles...i have now several of them ..i think they're releasing a couple of fellini films soon...woo hooo

Wow! That's quite a collection u have there!  Impressive, pare .. and if I counted correctly (I just whizzed through it) you have 31 Criterions!  Niiiiicccceeee .. Just curious, where are you based?  Pinas ka ba o U.S.?

You'd be surprised. Majority of people on this forum is based here in the Philippines and you'd be amazed at the collections of many of our members. As long as you got the cash, the card, and an Internet access, any DVD online is pretty much fair game.

Komikero- Good point! I just doubt I'd wish this addiction on myself if I were my own enemy .. hehe .. did that make sense? It's an expensive hobby .. I doubt I could keep it up if I were in 'Pinas .. (i hope I don't get flamed for that statement .. it's just a reflection of standards of living and differences in economy .. Also, I think credit is easier to come by here .. plastic rules! hehe )

Criterions are mostly made up of restored world cinema classics & acclaimed art films.

Not really with regards to Hollywood Oscar Best Pictures, as Criterion mainly focuses on world or foreign films.
