Also looking to upgrade to Denon X-1400h or X-2400h from my 1912. Any suggestions kung saan makakakuha ng best price locally for these two?

2018 models are now available (e.g. x2500h, x550BT). Is there anything apart from HEOS that makes it worth getting these over x1300H or x1400H?

@Yunarce, been going around seems like everyone's selling the x1400H at the same price 34990. Some have cash discounts others no diff cash or card... odd since they are now officially 2 yr old models here.

2018 models has the phono MM input now.  difference with 2016 x1300W and 2017 x1400H is the AKM DAC and built-in HEOS.

the reason going to stores that only offers the best cash discounts.  better to get the latest model if price is the same as the previous model -- you get longer firmware support and maybe +1 or +2 improved feature.  price drop doesn't happen in PH as much in the US and that's unfortunate for us...

The x2400H was on sale last month for 37,990 but only for August. Might have to wait for the price to lower again as this the cheapest that I got. Thanks for all the reply!

okidoki, sana nga maayos pa nila.

just heard back from the service center and it's good news.  may kailangan lang palitan na part which is cheap.  apparently nag-overheat daw ang receiver.  yung placement ko yata sa rack doesn't leave enough air to circulate. ililipat ko na lang para makahinga

Ang ginawa ko bili ng laptop cooler, yung two fans, then put on top of the receiver(air  movement away from receiver) which emits the most heat, bought 5v usb charger, a plug which you can program with the remote control. Pag on ng receiver, turn on din ang fan. If same lang ang on/off button, pag off mo, turn off din ang fan pag turn off ng receiver. Pag naka sleep lang you have to manually turn off the fan.  All from Lazada.. Less than 1k total. Receiver now cool to touch.

my Denon is pushing all my six 4 ohm low sensitivity speakers to an SPL that is beyond normal listening levels and never broke down in 7 years. Same method: laptop cooler with twin fan wired to a 5V wall wart from an old i-phone and plugged at the back of the Denon as a slave. When AVR is on it turns on as well.

500w step down is adequate but very little headroom.  Why not just get a 1.5KW step down instead? Future proof ka pa if you add more 110V A/V goodies

sorry, medyo noob.  so i buy laptop cooler that's usb powered.  how do i get it to power on with the receiver? tapos tama ang intindi ko, the fan blows away from the receiver?  so it sucks heat out?

meron na bang mga receiver na may USB5V out?
kung wala yung standard na charger para sa mga phones pwede na yun, at least mga 1A/5W much better kung mga 2A para hindi underpowered .

you could either suck it from the top or bottom as long as there is good airflow.

^ need to refer back with Denon user manual.  though IIRC, their USB port is with 5V-powered.  so okay na yung USB-wired cooling fan na ikabit sa USB port ng AVR.

check your user manual, para sure kayo =)

I checked the x4400H user manual -- walang sinabi rating if power is provided from USB port of Denon.

But sa Onkyo daw, according sa user manual:
-   USB jack: A USB storage device is connected so that music files stored in it can be
played.  You can also supply power (5 V/1 A) to USB devices with a USB cable.

try nyo nlang sa Denon niyo  >:D

You can power it through a usb charger. The ones used for cellphone charging. To power on with the receiver, you need a plug that can be programmed with a remote. Please see link.  Yes it sucks heat out. You can feel the heat when you place your hand directly over the fan.

The problem with my usb port is it will only have power if you select usb. No power when selector is not usb.. No slave outlet din ang receiver. Kaya programable plug because I cannot find an extension cord with master and slave outlet. There is a extension cord where one plug is the master. If it senses to draw power, it will turn on all the other outlet. When the appliance connected to the master outlet turns off, it also turns off the rest of the outlet. Kaso wala sa local. This would have been the ideal solution.

Would the trigger output work with a laptop cooler? I think that's 12 volts so just check it will match the coolers power requirement.

I set up my cooler to suck the hot air inside the AVR.

I see.. hehehe  ganun pala.  anyway, spare celfone charger is the easiest.  need additional plug nlang for the power source =)

salamat sa mga reply mga brader.  unfortunately, walang slave outlet ang receiver ko and the USB (assuming na it can power 5V) nasa harap naman.

i guess the best option would be the remote controlled plug na i-program mo to turn on and off with the receiver.

last request... patingin naman ng magandang cooler to use :-)

I'm using this one. Ultra quiet and no vibrations

A/V Receiver cooler

Low speed setting (at roughly ~60% power)

High speed setting (full power)

Actual tests takes less than 30 seconds to cool down a 45 degree Celcius AVR to room temperature at Low speed setting.

Cheers

Eto gamit ko. naka tiklop yung octopus, and naka patong sa AVR and bumili ako ng magnet para naka angat konti pag patong.  Hindi kailangan malakas, need lang air exchange. Kasi if sobra lakas, konti lang ang time ng air to absorb the heat inside. hanapin mo lang saan ang pinaka mainit na portion and doon mo patong.

Recently purchased Denon AVR-4400H & Denon PMA-520AE receivers to power a 7.1.4 surround sound setup. Plus a Panasonic DMP-UB400EBK UHD Blu-Ray player. 4K movies look awesome on my 11 year old Hitachi 3LCD Projector.
