1803 supports 6.1 (DTS ES, DD EX). So 6 channel output. tapos 2 pscan component video inputs, firewire input (for use in DVDAudio/ SACD)... umm the rest you get the standard 5 ch stero, etc..

this is a proprietary link and is not compatible with firewire/ilink/1394a. currently, it only works with their flagship dvd player.

it would have been really useful if they made it a standard firewire port. specially now that firewire is gaining in popularity. i believe its even being used in some hdtv sets. but then again at this price range, i think ur better off getting separates from rotel like the one aylwin mentioned. most locals here refer to the rotel separates as the best entry-level separates and most consider them as the poor man's krell, etc.

as of the moment, i saw a lot of Denon AVR1803 already in malls. the SRP of that model is only PHP29,400.00. i think i saw it in park square 1 and the podium last december. am just not so sure kung me stock pa as i was told by the sales people that it is a hot-selling item.

what i bought last christmas for myself is the denon avr1403 which costs only PHP20,500.00 but 15% discount was given to me.

so i spend PHP17,425.00 only from my angpao. hehe!! it's good naman for those who are a bit budget conscious like me. after all, enough na siya for my bedroom and speakers.

as of the moment, denon receivers are available in the following stores:

1. the soundroom in the podium (5th level)
2. digital dreams in SM north edsa cyberzone (ground level)
3. spectra audio video in park square 1
4. automtic center in glorietta 4 (3rd floor)
5. sights and sounds in park square 1 and shangri la plaza
6. audio visual driver in shangri la plaza

and a lot more.

for updated complete directory, check its ad in FHM december issue. i think the telephone numbers are also listed. the denon ad comes with the jbl ad, too.

If you want 6.1 decoding, try Denon 1803. I just got mine in Sights and Sound in Shangri-la. They got the lowest price compared to the other stores that I went to. Try to ask for a discount and better if you pay it in cash para mas bumaba yung price.

ako din eh..i was planning to sell my yammy and some of my dvd's para pang add sa upgrade..di ko lang alam kung bagay ang wharf sa denon..kung oks naman ill keep the wharfs para di masyado magastos...wala naman ako problema sa sub kasi maganda na yung jbl ko eh..hopely by the end of this year eh ma upgrade ko avr ko ehehehehe

. My greatest problem na lang eh yung pirma ni esmi dun sa approbal letter ko sa kanya ehehehehehe

Ok naman, considering na 1 pair of wharf 8.1s pa lang ang speakers ko.... nagiipon pa para mabuo ang setup...

One thing to consider... yung binebenta dito e walang multizone and surround back pre-out... compared to the US models na meron.
