sir,

malaki ba talaga difference sa SQ... btw my main source is Egreat M34A, TIA

i don't know kung meron ang 02 series ng audyssey ... because it and the SVS AS-EQ1 really improved my SQ.  (without the EQ1, receiver audysseys kill subwoofer bass IMO)

aside from that, i don't believe the hardware between the 02 and new models should have an audible difference.

actually, better sound quality from your main speakers if you use the receiver audyssey ... yung AS-EQ1 is a separate SVS product that equalizes subwoofers :)

I watched a movie in the afternoon and everything is ok but when I tried to watch another movie late in the evening my 1909 set up have been erased...my quick memory settings are also gone..my audyssey setup, assigned inputs are all gone..

I did not touch anything..I am not sure what happened and why everything was reset..I don't even know how to reset this receiver so I am sure I did not do anything..

naupuan ko lng ung remote pero wala naman ako makita na reset..hay kakapagod pa man din mag set up nito.

Make sure your a/v receiver has proper ventilation.  Nag default settings din 2808 ko before when I covered it with a blanket during a construction in my bathroom.  There is some protection in the circuitry if uminit ang unit without proper ventilation.

Am just wondering... aside from the extra features, will a higher model denon of the same series sound better than a lower one?  Am just wondering if a 1909 or the newer 1910 would sound better than say, a 1709.  Of course, the 19 series may have more power, but does that equate to better sound?  If ever, can you base the compatibility of a speaker to the 19 series by bringing along a 1709 amplifier on auditions.

Might be able to get a 1609 or 1709 at a good price for a different set-up.  Was just wondering if I can use these receivers to test speakers to be used potentially on a 1909/1910.  I also want to know if I could use one of these models as basis for comparison of the 19 series against other brand receivers.

Thanks for your inputs.

Help naman po sa mga denon users, just bought 2808. Audyssey is working, testone is working but I cant output any sound from any sources. I have WDTV connected thru optical, PC connected thru EXT IN, and an ipod thru RCA. I cant get any sound from all sources. The tuner also doesn't output any white noise. I'm sure its not on mute, and the volume is at -20db.

TIA

did you assign the optical input number for the WDTV input?
i think you might also need to assign "analog" for RCA inputs

try pressing the "input mode button" on the remote til you see "AUTO" on the receiver display.

button #8 on the remote
button #17 on the front panel

need advise:

I have a Denon 2808 with Wharfedale 9.1 fronts.
I was wondering is I could bi amp and bi wire the speakers to see how it would work/sound. At the same rate I am already quite fixated on upgrading the speakers very soon but before that I would like to see how the avr would make this wharfedale sound better. If this is a good idea, can anybody help me connect this set up? im quite parenoid still after reading the manual of the denon.

basically, to bi-amp the speakers, the denon is gonna switch the surround back amps to output the same signal as the main L and R.

you should try it.  who knows?  at the very least it's a learning experience.

i've tried bi-amping with a Rotel RMB1077 and i heard no difference.  my mains are now bi-wired with 12/4 speaker cables (because i can) :D but again, no sound difference.

oh ok thanks, let me try for the experience also... do i just connect another set of wires from the designated bi amp terminals and straight to the speaker and remove the bi wire connectors in the speakers literally?
