nalito ako bro  ;D ;D

My post had a typo. Should have read "There seems to be a standard but some speakers and AVR's don't follow the standard."

The distance between the binding posts of speakers (or AVR's) is mostly the same but there are some cases when they are quite different and don't seem to follow a standard.

No room acoustic treatment is like running a Ferrari on ice.

the SVS pb10nsd subwoofer is working perfectly now ... i do not really know what resolved it, but i did a total reset of my cable connections and setup of the AVR ...everything is working fine now

initial observation on the pb10nsd performance - quite impressive ... i haven't even setup using the Audyssey, i'll be doing that tonight :)

Saan po ang mga authorized service center ng Denon?

Seems I have a problem with my 1907. Anything I connect to Optical 1 is not wokring (PS3, WDTV and Pio DVD). Dati naman gumagana siya. Tried using different optical cables wala pa din. Optical 2 and 3 are working fine. Ayaw ko lang yung pag kaka-kabit sa Optical 3 ngayon kasi naka-labas ang cable.

I want to have it checked sana kung ano problema. Baka meron lang sa settings na nagalaw eh.

its just a difference of implementation by two companies with regards to making ordinary two channel (stereo) audio into multichannel (5.1) audio.

imho, i prefer dts neo for movies and dolby pro logic II : music for music.  :)

Have a friend who has had an 1802 for several years with no issues.  I think what you are doing is the best route to take-that is getting a second hand one or an entry level receiver.  So just in case you get the itch to upgrade, you would not have spent that much........yet ;D.  What speakers are these going to drive?  You might be surprised too with how you may be satisfied with your initial acquisition.

Good luck on the hunt ;)

Thank you sir,

My front are Wharfdale 2090, Center is Euro6 from Daichi, surround are Daichi bookshelves and as for sub im getting a new one because my old one, has a built in 5.1 analog receiver. Im planning to get either a down ward firing or a bandpass. Would you reco the 1802 for the set up?

Thanks again

Not too familiar with those speakers,

But pretty sure the 1802 can drive them.

Check this out.  Specs are on page pp48.

I have a 1709 (us model).  The thing I noticed about the lower models is that it doesn't convert analog to digital.  If you input via rca or component, your output to the TV will also be analog.  Which models start converting to digital?  Does the 1910 convert already?  This would be an issue for me since I want only the HDMI cable going to my display without the need of additional component cables.  (Medyo malayo kasi yung Receiver ko sa display).

Any thoughts?

the 1910 will upscale analog signals to 1080p via hdmi. :)

Hello, I'm new here and been meaning to get myself a decent AVR for myself. I'm starting from scratch and know little of the tech talk and jargon yet. I don't really know what an avr can do, if it can send signals to my TV better than a standard player.?. I just would like your advices please on what unit I should consider.

1. music is the first priority. 70 to 80% for it. I don't really need something very loud since I have a smallish room. I love Jazz so clarity is something I hopefully get. I was told that Denon shines on this field.
2. I wish that the avr though would be at least 5.1 capable and not limited to stereo.
3. I don't need something new nor a new model, but I wish it to be.
4. I prefer that it is up to date on things that I can use such as HDMI or DTS capable.
5. most of the things I would play would come from a computer, ipod or maybe a built in radio.
6. I still don't have any speakers but was advised to look for celestion or maybe B&W.
7. I will be building this one item at a time when budget allows.
8. entry level would be ok, but since I don't intend to be changing it for a while a mid level one would be preferred. future proof would be great, but if I wouldn't use the feature, then it is just extra expense on me that I can probably live without.
9. budget is requested at 15k but I can save up to buy a good one if I need to.

thank you.

hi timber, why don't you come by the shop and compare the different avrs. we have denon, onkyo and harman kardon. you can compare them side by side so you can hear the differences for yourself. :)

2310, if I'm not mistaken.

23.. series na pala ang least expensive na denon avr na may pre-out ngayon? my 1907 has pre-outs so di na rin pala ininclude sa 1910.
