Mga bossing magkano ko kaya mabebenta ang avr-1909 (US, 110v) sa Pinas? 1 year old sya pero good as new condition.

Thanks!

I sold mine for 19k late last year, model is 789 which is basically the same as the 1909.  HTH ;)

Just wanted to give an update on this...

Let me just to provide a background from my previous posts. I suddenly had problems with my 1907's Optical 1 input. There was no sound coming from that connection so stopped using it. Aside from that, everything was all OK. Optical 2 and 3 were working. Coax working and all RCA input are working. Around 3-4 weeks ago I decided to bring my 1907 to Lotteworld to have the Optical 1 fixed (so I can hook my PS3 again directly and enjoy digital sound).

I left my unit there for 2 weeks and kept calling for updates. Finally I was told that the Optical 1 input will no longer be fixed because of an IC that they didn't have in stock and it is too expensive if I were to have it fixed. So I agreed to just pull it out. I figured I lived without using Optical 1 so will just go ahead and do that. I picked up my unit and hooked up everything. I verified again that Optical 1 wasn't working but this time the Front L & R speaker connectors are not working as well (this wasn't a problem previously). Center speaker connector was working fine. I hooked up the left and right speakers to the center connector on the AVR and there was sound coming out (so it is the connector indeed). So I returned my unit to Lotteworld and explained to them the new problem. We tested it in their shop and they were able to verify the problem.

I just called Lotteworld again this morning and this is what they told me..."Sir, yung problema is yung DSP. Yung analog input nyo corrupted na din, meron na distortion". I re-verified if Optical 1 was fixed and it wasn't...I was expecting that. Then the technician added "Yung mga digital input nyo po corrupted na din dahil sa DSP". So I asked, "Pati Optical 2 adn Coaxial hindi ko na magagamit?". "Hindi na sir, pati yun affected na". I told the tech that that wasn't the case when I sent them the unit and he was saying that it was just a matter of time before the thing broke down and that the analog inputs will be the next one to go.

I am speechless, confused and irritated!!! Mainly because 1) I sent my unit working just fine...given that it had an Optical 1 problem everything else was working fine (Optical 2, Coax and analogs) but I will be getting it in a worst condition than I sent it for repair 2) I don't know if the problem was really with my AVR or they did something that messed it all up. And not they are pulling this "DSP ang problema and its just a matter of time bibigay din yan". Malay ko ba kung sila naka-sira and they are passing the problem to me with the BS excuse. In fact, they messed up my speaker connectors when i first pulled out my unit.

Grrrrrrrr!!!! Not sure what are the next steps to take. I am thinking of getting in touch with the Manager/Owner of Lotteworld to get a better explanation for this unfortunate incident. But I don't like the idea that I will end up getting a big paper weight from them when it was working almost perfectly when I sent it.

Digital input and analog input not working...WTF!!!...what am I supposed to do with an AVR that doesn't have any input/output capability!

If anyone has any idea for next steps I'd appreciate to hear from you.

Hello Sir,

How's tur 1907?  Solved n b problem?  Had the same experience before with my denon avr1508, bought it from theaterworks, and similar to ur 1907, i encountered the same problem.

They even replaced the unit with a new item (same model though), but still the same problem existed. This left me no choice but to return the unit and get my money back.

Am very disappointed with Denon, because I am expecting a lot from them, fortunately my 2004 yamaha avr is still serving me well.

After a month in the service center wala pa din balita. I will follow up with Lotte World today to see what happened. Good for you because you were still able to get your money back. Mine is more than a year old so its already out of warranty. In short if they were not able to fix it then there is no other choice but to replace it  :-[

Thanks Sir blackie. I'll try to audition both unit. As for my preference, 50-50 ako music-movie. In this case, this     is my first HT kaya i don't have any experience in setting up HT. I read a lot of reviews that onkyo 508 has a lot of negative feedback but denon 1611 wala pako masyado nababasa na mga review. Please give us feedback     sa mga naka bili na ng 1611. Thanks.

Pareho tayo ng prob ShogdGreat.  I've been waiting for the Denon 1611 and 1911 to be out in the Philippine market so I can compare the prices with Onkyo's 508 and 608.

I've been reading some not-so-good feedback for the 508 at another forum that's why I'm considering the Denon 1611 as well.

Just got the 1911. Medyo kinakapa ko pa (newbie kasi hehe).

May tanong ako. Yung PS3 kasi nakakabit via "HDMI in" sa 1911. Of course yung "HDMI out" papuntang tv (lcd).

thanks in advance!

Same tayo ng problem before. I was lucky to audition the 1611 and 508 last week in S&S. I ended up to bring the 508. Nagustuhan ko kasi ang tunog ng 508 compare sa 1611. Noticeable yung difference nila sa music listening. Mas maganda ang bass ng 508 sa aking pandinig. Feel ko yung drums dun sa music. Anyway, that is just for me, better to see it for yourself. Audition first before you buy. ;D
Happy ako sa 508 ko using mirage s10 subwoofer and wharf 9.1. ;)

Good luck for your hunting.

i think there was a comparo i came across kaninang umaga .....

power consumption of Onkyo 508 is 130W, Denon 1611 is 390 watts

i think this is why SNS is recommending Denon 1611.....

Did you do the setting all by yourself? Leave the LFE at 120hz, set subs crossover freq. at maximum, volume at mid-point then run the audyssey autosetup.

Yes, set all speakers to small and LFE at 120 Hz.

For crossover freq, the rule is that it should be equal or higher than what is recommended by Audyssey. Usually better to set it one click higher.

PM mo si toybeats... He had the chance to pair B&W 684 htm61 & Denon 2808CI last week. He tried all sort of tweaking, bi-ampling, etc.... Sabi nya bitin daw sa power ang 2808 vs. b&w nya as he can feel the speakers asking for more power. His volume is already set at 0db para lang audible yong dialog. Sayang nga daw kasi malinis tumunog ang 2808 kaya bitin sa B&W 684 nya.  ;)

The correct crossover frequency of a speaker is dependent not only on the characteristic of the speaker itself but also the placement of the speaker and the acoustics of the room. After you run the Audyssey setup, it will give a recommended minimum crossover frequency. You can use that or you can increase the frequency (but don't lower it). Just experiment and choose what you prefer.

If you have a subwoofer and one or more of your speakers has been detected as "Large," change that setting to "Small" and then adjust the crossover frequency, similar to above.
No room acoustic treatment is like running a Ferrari on ice.

I find this quite unusual. I have a friend who has a 7.1 channel setup, using JMLab speakers (which can go down to 3 ohms) in a 48 square meter room. He uses a Denon 2808 and I never found the power inadequate. Of course, he has 2 big subs and he sets all speakers to "Small" so that also helps. His system can handle volume at 0db and the dialog is very clear.

I have also heard the same Denon 2808 driving a 7.1 system at the AV Driver listening room (which is huge) and it was really loud.

My guess is that it also depends on speaker positioning, room acoustics, the location of your listening position and if you run the Audyssey setup properly. I find that most of the time, when people complain about inaudible dialog, their center speaker is located on a low shelf, near the floor, and even worse, sandwiched between shelves.

Aside from the items already mentioned: Imho, slightly recessed talaga yung vocals ng HTM61. Check mo kung kaya ng EQ/audyssey. :)

Scary naman eto ::) Isolated case, perhaps?
