Wala na po available sa stores nung "07"series, series"08" na ang available.
Wala po pre-out yung 1508. 1908 yata ang sunod na model na may pre-out, not sure if 1708 meron.

DENON UPDATES ITS AVR LINE-UP

The release line-up and pricing is as follows:

August
                                  UK prices      US prices
    * Denon AVR-1509 ----- £280
    * Denon AVR-1709 ----- £350
    * Denon AVR-1909 ----- £450 ----- $650
    * Denon AVR-2309 ----- £600 ----- $850

September

                                  UK price        US price
    * Denon AVR-2809 ----- £800 ----- $1,200

The entry-level, AVR-1509 and AVR-1709 models are steps up from the equivalent models in Denon's '08 range - adding more channels, power and HDMI inputs (up to three in the case of the '1709) - but buyers looking for HD Audio decoding will be most tempted by the Denon AVR-1090 upwards.

The AVR-1909 handles all the HD Audio formats, plus offers 1080p Faroudja video upscaling, component video conversion, three HDMI inputs, HDMI Auto Lip Sync, Pure Direct audio option (for stereo amplification) and on-screen display set-up. It's a 7.1 channel design, with 90W per channel power output.

The AVR-2309 and AVR-2809, meanwhile, both add a fourth HDMI input, plus an extra power transformer (making three in total; the rest of the '09 range boast two).

--- AVR2309

--- AVR2809CI

The AVR-2309 offers 100W per channel, whereas the AVR-2809 offers 115W, plus a range of custom-install-friendly features - including support for up to three zones, plus a learning remote (WHATHIFI.COM)

Most important, they offer Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume (both of which can be activated by the end-user) plus a vastly improved mic for calibration.

Planning to buy a 2308 to replace my old reliable Onkyo 494. Do you think there'll be big improvement in my DVD/CD/DVD-A/SACD playing? My set-up consists of Mission M72/M7C1/M70 and USAudio 512, Pioneer DVD/DVD-A/SACD player and Panasonic TH42PV70. Any suggestions in setting-up 2308 for my gears?

I used to own that combo (Onkyo 494, Mission M72, etc.) for my bedroom setup. Its a great combination/match!

Big improvement. I think: OF COURSE!  :)

I demoed the 2808 which should sound the same as the 2308,the power difference is 10 watts which is not much unless you have speakers with 98db up sensitivity. Anyway sound wise its a step up especially for music, the speakers used though were PSB image floorstanders but i'm confident you'll hear a clear improvement with your missions.

Mahina yung center channel ng Denon compared to my Onkyo 494. Tinaasan ko na yung channel level to +7 pero parang pigil pa rin yung dialogues. May settings pa ba na pwede i-tweak para lumabas na maganda yung dialogues? All other channels sound great, btw. :)

There's something wrong. Have you used the Auto-setup with Audyssey MultEQ?

Thanks! :)

Ano location ng center speaker mo? Nasa loob ng shelf na medyo mababa? Better kung nakalabas sya and a little slanted towards the ears of the main listener, after which you need to do Audyssey calibration again.

Regarding phase errors, if you are sure that the phase is correct, just skip it. It's not a problem.

It's impossible that it doesn't detect the sub. Do you hear the chirps from the sub when you do the Audyssey calibration? Maybe you should increase the gain of the sub (yung nasa likod nya) kasi baka nasa "auto on" sya and masyadong mahina signal kaya d sya umaandar. It's a very big problem if Audyssey doesn't detect the sub, because the biggest corrections that Audyssey makes are on the sub. After the sub is detected, you should set all speakers to "small".

You can't manually adjust the equalizer. If you do that, you negate all the Audyssey settings, and they are much more detailed than a manual calibration. The only thing you can do is to adjust the level of the center channel (as you have done). I suspect the problem is the position of the center speaker.

Thanks for the tips, streetsmart. There was noticeable improvement when I did slant the center speaker. Will try reconfiguring this weekend for the sub issue. :)
